Duke at North Carolina

No you won't. You will have ONE if and only if Singler comes back.reclegend22 wrote:

RiverRat13Duke's highest scoring big is averaging 6.5 ppg. But yeah, with Lance Thomas 2.0 (Josh Hairston) they will have enough inside to win a title...
-
RiverRat13And if Singler comes back, it just sets up K to put him back at the four and go with Irving, Smith, Curry, Singler and younger Plumlee. That line-up isn't athletic up front or good enough defensively up front to win a title.
-
ironman0211:39 to go in UConn/'Cuse. Are we gonna make it?
-
wildcats20ESPN really needs to do something about this.
-
ironman02I think Carolina-Duke tip-off is at around 9:10 PM. We might be ok.
-
wildcats20If this game goes to OT, I swear to God.....
-
reclegend22Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith and Seth Curry will all bring dynamite talent to the team. All-American talent. Nolan Smith might just be the most explosive scorer in the ACC, and he's only getting better. Next year, he'll be on a world onto himself. Don't kid yourself. This kid is as good as it gets, both offensively and defensively.
Mason Plumlee (who has more NBA potential than probably anyone in the ACC), Miles Plumlee and Ryan Kelly are going to be a force on the front line for Duke. With another year of experience, Kelly is going to be real solid. Duke's front line has changed. These aren't the days of McClure and Zoubek. Next year, Duke will be in the thick of things. Hell, they are this year.
I can fly under the radar, though, if that's what you like. Fine by me.
Now back to the present, and watching UNC fall further down the NIT seeding chart. Is this (potentially and probably) the third NIT campaign in the last nine years? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that translates into 33 percent of your last nine seasons ending in the other tournament. Is that supposed to happen at Carolina?
I know you'll bring up the two national titles and that's fine. You earned them. But three NITs in nine years is embarrassing for a school like Carolina, especially after just cutting down the nets a year ago. Shucks. -
ironman02Well, it looks like I jinxed us. UConn is making a game of it.
Like wildcats said, If this game goes to OT... -
wildcats20Dyson is a stud.
-
CinciX12No way ESPN doesn't cut away from anything to show UNC and Duke. I mean Bilas is calling the game probably, he would run into the truck and switch it over.
-
wildcats20It's Dickie V and Dan Shulman calling the game.
And they won't cut away from this game, which BLOWS. -

He averages 6.5 ppg. If he has the most NBA potential in the ACC, then that speaks a lot to how poorly Duke develops/utilizes its front line.reclegend22 wrote: Mason Plumlee (who has more NBA potential than probably anyone in the ACC)

reclegend22I said potential. Let's not forget that he started this year off with a rough start, not joining the team for practice or games until the week of the Wisconsin game in December due to injury. And it took him awhile to get back to full capacity. I still don't think he's there yet. In terms of future production, Mason probably has the most potential in the conference in terms of professional basketball. He's shown that at times, but he's still growing and learning.
Ask any of college basketball's highly regarded analysts, and I bet more times than not Plumlee's name is raised in regards to this issue.
Hell, even Jay Bilas, who tries so damn hard to make it known that he's not cheering for Duke (to the point that I don't even care for him anymore), has said as much. He knows talent. That's his profession. I'll take his word. -
wildcats20Bilas is also a lawyer aka a professional liar
-
reclegend22Besides, river, I think you have far more dire concerns than to be concentrating on Mason Plumlee's pro career. Like winning 15 games.
-
Ironman92Of course Uconn is right there.....it's Uconn
They have had a cruddy year.....are playing at #3 Syracuse having a tremendous year....and it's a nail biter.
I see it quite similar to the next game...except UNC is at home. -
wildcats20What will happen next? ESPN asks....This game will end in an Orange win in REGULATION and we won't miss 1 second of the biggest rivalry in ALL OF SPORT.
-
slingshot4everId rather watch the 'Cuse game anyways. Other game will be a blowout anyhow.

reclegend22OMG.
I'm about to fucking murder my television. I won't be able to take an OT. Screw the Big East. -
reclegend22Yes, ALL OF SPORT. At least in America.
Duke-Carolina.
Yankees-Red Sox
Ohio State-Michigan.
ESPN better not screw this up. -
slingshot4everHaha, there have been plenty of ESPN polls in the past years that have proven otherwise. Always ends up OSU UM and then Yanks Red Sox.

Gotta get my digs in where I can. I'm afraid tonight is the start of four in a row for Duke against the Heels. I just don't see Duke being good enough up front to win a title, and with all the good guards they'll have next year I think it will be way too easy for K to slide Singler to four which will win games in the regular season but will hurt them when they get deep in the tournament.reclegend22 wrote: Besides, river, I think you have far more dire concerns than to be concentrating on Mason Plumlee's pro career. Besides, I'm not the one who should worry about Mason's pro career, he should. Especially after Josh McRoberts and Kyle Singler's pro stock significantly dropped the longer they stayed at Duke... -
