    That's probably very true.

I never said it was acceptable, I just said it wasn't absolutely ridiculous, on the grounds that it's happened before. Even if you throw Evan Berry (I looked it up, James is the dad), it still happened with Leak, so yes, there's precedence.
And I contend that 1 case 10 years ago and Kiffin doing it last year doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

I doubt Kiffin is gone by the time that kid goes there (if he goes there). I'd bet money on it. The guy is gonna win at USC, and it hurts me to say that.

I agree with this. His personality seems like it will fit the Cali lifestyle perfectly.

there is already a thread on this.

this is totally heinous. is any of this official? does he have an official offer? when can coaches contact kids, or is there a minimum age/grade?

you can not be contacted by a coach until september 1st of your junior year of high school (and that i believe, is only by mail, from what i remember of going through the recruiting process i dont think a coach can call you until July 1st the summer before your senior year of high school)

you can, however, contact any coach you want as early as you would like

Lane Kiffin + Rick Neuheisel in the LA region = potential for unlimited corruption.

Wasn't BJ Mullins an OSU commit by the 8th grade?

I have heard the recruiting-visit stories, similar to the Colorado incident, where high school seniors are brought on campus and "escorted" by the finest looking women the college could provide (which would probably be one helluva trip to USC) with never-ending bottles of Cristal.

What kindof of recruiting visit do you roll out for a 7th grader? Oreos and Miley Cyrus concerts??
  • vball10set
^^^hell no..you roll out the ladies and the Cristal for the old man!!! :p

Why? The kid could change his mind anytime he wants to. Now if he doesn't turn out good or gets a career ending injury through high school he's already got a scholly. More than likely if one of those things happen they won't take away the offer.
