In case you havent noticed Florida has won two national titles recently with the Spread and has arguably the best recruiting class in history this season. You like most of the other idiots on this site fail to realize that almost every team in college football uses the spread to some extent hell even the nfl is beginning to adopt spread tendency's and formation's. The spread is not dying out hell not even close it's just evolving and Rich will adapt with it. -

He' not shown much of a penchant for adaptation, don't expect any miracles on this front.Tinkertrain wrote: ytown

TinkertrainYes that's why he went from having one of the most prolific passing attacks in history at Tulane to a run first spread option attack West Virginia he couldnt adapt.

ytownfootballLOL...you mean with Pat White?
OK
And bdug, you're welcome. There's a long history of mutual respect from the two schools...
Michigan gave OSU Script Ohio
Ohio State gave Michigan Bo
Best love/hate relationship in all of sports. -
bduq37tink,
Florida does not run a spread option. There are in fact numerous offenses that can be considered a "spread" but are nothing like the RR offense. Like it or not, Oregon has the closest thing to the Michigan offense and we all watched the OSU D eat them up.
RR doesn't adapt well. Reasons are as follows:
1. The total collapse of the team in the last 8 games.
2. The total collapse of the team in the second half of all of those games.
3. Having, arguably, the Big Ten's fastest player, in Denard, watching most games from the bench. PUT HIM ON THE FUCKING FIELD SOMEWHERE!!!! The QB draw was really creative against ND, but against Iowa, I started to question whether RR actually liked DR. -

I think this past bowl season proves that the Big 10 doesn't need to have Michigan be great. I used to think that the Big 10 did, but I think teams are adapting and stepping up after Michigan's been down for the past few seasons.0311sdp wrote: As a Buckeye fan looking in at the Michigan program, Michigan does need to move on from the Bo era but much as OSU did during the Cooper years they can't forget the values and traditions that Bo established at Michigan and they can't forget what it means to be a Michigan man. Cooper didn't understand what Ohio State football meant to the people of the state and I'm not sure RR does either. Ohio State was fortunate enough to land a coach who did undertand the traditions and the Michigan rivalry and Buckeye football is as strong as under Woody. As I've said many times the Big Ten needs Michigan to be great, is RR the man to lead them back, I would say that he has one more year to prove that he is. But the Michigan/OSU rivalry will never be greater than it was during the 10 year war between Bo and Woody. -
OldDanTuckerThe big10 has stepped up the past couple of seasons, but if UM steps it up again and gets to the top you can make an argument for it being the toughest conf.

dwccrew^^^You could; I was just stating that the Big 10 doesn't NEED UM, but it certainly is better with a top ranked UM team.
