As long as Jim Tressel coaches at Ohio State, Ohio State will get its first pick of players from the State of Ohio which is always the backbone of every recruiting class. And no, Michigan will not challenge that anytime soon with their current system.Tinkertrain wrote: They just wont admit it but believe me they are.
IF Rich Rod get's Michigan turned around and back to national prominence it has serious consequences for Ohio State especially with recruiting.
The Buckeye's basically have complete dominence in the midwest when it comes to recruiting. They pretty much get who they want for the most part because they are the premier program in the midwest. If Michigan becomes what they once were again that dominence will be challenged and Ohio State will not get the pick of the litter like they used too and that will force them to recruit more nationally. It's no secret that outside of the midwest Tress does not recruit overly well and that's because he does not have the recruiting juice to outrecruit the sec and or pac 10 coaches. Rich Rod has allready shown he can go into sec territory play with the big boys and win. -

WTF are you talking about? RR hasn't proved a damn thing other than he can finish 11/10 in the Big 10. It ain't gonna last, boosters will be up his ass and despite how much you refuse to acknowledge it it's happening, lose to the Bucks again and he is GONE.Tinkertrain wrote: It's no secret that outside of the midwest Tress does not recruit overly well and that's because he does not have the recruiting juice to outrecruit the sec and or pac 10 coaches. I have absolutely no fear of RR at all. He is joke. He runs a gimmic that Ohio State and other schoools are starting to catch up with already. See the Rose Bowl. The offense he runs is just like the west coast offense, the wishbone etc they are gimmics and gimmics dont last forever. Remember he ran this in the Big East. After Miami and V-T he then became the big boy not before. The only fear I have of RR is how far the program goes down before he is gone as I want Tsun to be good.

lmfao do you realize how retarded what you just said was?
The west coast offense is one of the most successfull offenses in the history of football and it's tendencies have evolved and are still seen in all level's of football. That's exactly what happens with offensive system's they evolve and expand into different thing's over time. It's what will happen with the spread as time goes on. It will evolve with the game and may someday dissapear as we currently understand it but it's basic principles will be used for long after most people think it's dead.
and for christ sakes you win one rose bowl against a spread team and suddenly the whole offense is dryed up and wasted. -

The post was ment to be about recruting......... DUH!!!!! Rich Rod has pulled a number of kids out of sec territoryytownfootball wrote:

ytownfootballI don't give a shit if he pulls them out of Zimbabwe, he hasn't won with them...Duh

insuranceguyNo beating one team does not make it unstoppable I agree but it is becoming obvious that teams not just Ohio State are catching up with this offense. The west coast offense was a gimmic that did evolve into other offenses you are correct there. Too bad RR cant or wont evolve. Maybe 8 wins would have happened in one year instead of 2 then?

He's only gotten one class that's completely his own in you asshat! Of that one class 7 or 8 of them either started or lettered last season you think Tress could win playing that many true freshman major minutes in crucial positions?ytownfootball wrote: I don't give a shit if he pulls them out of Zimbabwe, he hasn't won with them...Duh -

And JT has too Cameron Heyward, Santonio Holmes, Nate Salley ,Brandon Mitchell, Nader Abdallah, Maurice Wells, Anderson Russell, Chimdi Chekwa, Brian Rolle, Mike Brewster etc etc . Its not like JT doesnt get kids from the great SEC country!!! what a moron!!! You are totally clueless on this and RRTinkertrain wrote:

ytownfootballI don't think Tress would have been so damn hard headed or stupid to have not molded his play selection/offense to what he had available cheif. RR is too fuckin' arrogant and is putting himself before the University. You want to call somebody an asshat, look no further than he.
I want UM better sooner rather than later, you apparently don't. -
pkebkerRich Rod is a proven excellent recruiter. He has great success recruiting in SEC territory, especially Florida. Rich Rod probably isn't as good of a HC as Tressel, but that doesn't mean he can't be successful. He can turn around UM and CAN beat OSU. Some OSU fans on here are acting like Michigan will never win a Big Ten game again. Michigan will return to the top of the Big Ten.

Michigan wouldnt have won 8 games in year one under a traditional Michigan offense or any kind of hybrid between the spread/pro style. The quarterback play would not have allowed it to happen because Mallet was as good as gone the second Rich was named coach.Basically Rich had a choice blow it up completely or prolong the agony by running some form of hybrid for a year or two and then switch only to expierence the same damn growing pains.insuranceguy wrote: No beating one team does not make it unstoppable I agree but it is becoming obvious that teams not just Ohio State are catching up with this offense. Yea check the 2008-2009 season Pryor, Brewster,Herron,Posey, Nathan Williams all started and at least 3 others lettered. Any other questions???Tinkertrain wrote:

And how many has he pulled head to head versus Meyer, Saban, Miles or even Richt, Nutt or Petrino? Most of the kids you listed were before these current sec coaches were in place and not all of the kid's you listed even had offers from the big sec school's to begin with. -

First off Boom Herron was a redshirt freshman not a true freshman so that makes it 3 true freshman starting. These kid's also had a luxary that the kids in michigan didnt have. That is outstanding upperclassmen talent to help them and to minimize what they needed to do -

Good old sleeper spins the subject again. What does ND have to do with Pryor and OSU QB's in the NFL? Typical garbage from you, get a new act.sleeper wrote:Umm, name a QB that starts from ND? Brady Quinn can't even beat out Derek Anderson to start on one of the worst teams of the league.
ND is good at over hyping its athletes, which explains the one bowl win in 20 years against a depleted 6-6 WAC team. -

I highly suggest you read the thread on how to put someone on your ignore list.rock_knutne wrote:

So when in 2011 or 2012 when Michigan is challenging for the big 10 title and beating ohio state you'll be around so I can say haha right?ytownfootball wrote: Your ability to convince anyone that RR is the answer at UM is equal to your abilty to properly execute the quote function. -

I'll bet you $25 that UM doesn't beat OSU in 2011 then double or nothin for 2012Tinkertrain wrote:

Really, I don't understand how some people think that IF Michigan gets better that it will all of a sudden be the downfall of Ohio State. It won't be.
All I can say is that Tressel has an 8-1 record and 6 straight victories as evidence that Michigan beating Ohio State regularly isn't going to happen under his watch.
P.S. Even though you don't want it to happen Tinker, UM will not keep Rodriquez next year if he finishes anywhere lower than 4th or 5th in the Big Ten which tells me a)The standards have fallen mightily in a very short time and b)he's almost definitely getting the boot. Your schedule next year is not favorable at all. -

Lol yeah I'll be here.Tinkertrain wrote: So when in 2011 or 2012 when Michigan is challenging for the big 10 title and beating ohio state you'll be around so I can say haha right?
I tend to look at the overall picture more than most. I'm not one to look at how many 4* recruits you have and say you're going to kick ass based on that, or that that alone is going to save RR job. There is a bigger picture in front of you that you will not answer, and I've asked a couple times.
Michigan has not defeated Ohio State at home or in Columbus in 6 years, and only once in the last 9. At what point does the Michigan brass give up on this little experiment into the run & shoot, spread read, triple option cluster fuck abortion offense RR is attempting to force on arguably the most storied program in the history of collgiate athletics? It's just too damn embarassing for them to continue much past this season. They won't continue to be the punch line. They are ready to distance themselves from the darkest Saturday in UM history only known as Appy State, followed behind by a close second in Toledo.
Rich Rod looks like a bumbling retard in a ball pit at Chucky Cheese and UM does too by association. -

Yes, as long as Indiana is still apart of the Big 10. They'll sneak by Northwestern and Illinois every once in awhile too.pkebker wrote: Rich Rod is a proven excellent recruiter.
