You look at all the offensive and defensive lines in the SEC, they mostly all have studs that are huge and can run. Take a guy like Powe from Ole Miss who had some off the field problems and is now getting it together. You have to work and continue to stay on the right track or others will pass you up quickly. There's a lot of competition.

I'm not going to argue that he'll be good at some point, just not ready to get carried away with him making plays in this game like it will always be this easy.
I don't think anyone is basing it totally off this game, but considering the game is currently being played and it's the first time 99% of the people here have seen him play what else should they base it on? People have said the same things about him all year based on what scouts said and that wasn't even against other All American's. I mean what you're saying you could say about any one in the game, you're pretty much dismissing any discussion about it, which I don't really understand.

I think most are basing it off this one game because it's the first time he's on TV and you get enamored. But how many of these games have we all watched? I'm sure a lot.

You can't get too carried away and start saying that every college team should beware this guy is coming. Very few come in and dominate as freshman.
Right, but it's no different than saying he won't be good as a freshman. It's a prediction. I don't think people are basing it on this one game--when you consider how many people follow recruiting, whether or not they've seen him play people have been following this kid all year. And the scouts have said great things about him all season--he's clearly a stud. I'm just saying they don't make 18 year olds like him too often, you can't really disagree with that. He's pretty much got NFL size right now and he isn't far behind in athleticism. I don't think I ever said he would dominate as a freshman either--just agreed with a guy who said that had he committed to OSU he may have instantly be the best DT on the team. I'm a huge Bucks fan, as most of us are, and I don't really see any reason that that guy might not be right. I think once he picks up that Florida hat a lot of minds change based on jealousy. If he would have picked up the OSU hat we'd be talking about how he could be 1st team Big Ten next year...

Never changed my thoughts about him. I think he will be a great 3 year player for Florida and on to the NFL. Good Luck to the kid.

Yeah, I think that was a bit of a stretch and a comment to stir up a response from the OSU fans. It worked lol.

With Heyward back, you have to think he will play DT some and he would easily be the best DL.

They are losing a lot from the DL and Floyd would've been in the rotation as a freshman because of that. I'll agree with that.
  • Speedofsand
Writerbuckeye, I understand your opinion. My opinion is you don't have a clue.
Florida also has Trail and Ball at DE , somebody may not stick.

That was cool with Potoae getting his dad home from Iraq for the game.

OSU is still deep, a top 10 class is only a ranking, 2 or 3 years until you see true results.

They aren't losing too much. Heyward will play DT some, but he'll play DE more. Doesn't matter what he's projected as--JT will use him how he has to. He'll play all over the line, but he's done that since he first put the pads on for OSU. No doubt in my mind no matter where he lines up he's the best defensive lineman that OSU has--no one can argue that.

Anyways, I would say more but it's totally pointless because he's going to Florida anyways. I'm just pissed, I thought he was a Buckeye and he would have been a GREAT pick up. Of course OSU will be fine without him, whatever, that's just the bullshit you say when you don't get a guy. I still wish we would have got him. Fine without him<better with him.

Florida is getting a lot of talent still but I'd be surprised if they win another national title in the next few years.

I think OSU is still knocking on the door.

Alabama is going to be great for awhile.

Kelly reminds me of Jimmie Johnson and I think ND will start to become a major factor.

I think a lot of these guys have seen the success of Florida lately and they want to join the hot program but don't realize that it's kind of changing. They could end up being like Marian Hossa.

    Absolutely. See Notre Dame.

Pete Dawkins MVP Award to Ronald Powell.
Between this game and the Under Armor game, the Gators cleaned up.

But Bama has the #1 class I think

Rocket, you're still an idiot...btw,I remember when we thought we landed a "must have" stud in Robert Rose--time will tell :-/

Really wanted to see Floyd as a Buckeye.

Urban Meyer has to be the best recruiter in the nation...just a crazy class that he has coming to Florida.

OSU still looks good for Henderson, Bryant, James, and others. Better get those guys, though.

Unfortunately he was never gonna be able to get in to OSU.

West Virginia is gonna end up w/ a good class, cause it seems like every kid w/ bad grades is ending up there.
Don't care if they have bad grades or not. They are here to help the football team win games so that's all that matters. They still have to meet the NCAA standards and I'm fine with that.

WVU has always been a haven for kids with grades/character issues.

OJ Mayo and Bill Walker were thugs in hs, yet both damn near went to WVU.

Of course you have Pac-Man and Chris Henry.
Your Mayo and Bill Walker example makes absolutely no sense. Neither one of them ended up at WVU and neither one were even seriously considering WVU for their college choice. So I don't see how they "damn near went to WVU."

And while Henry had some problems his senior year, neither of them really had any major issues while at WVU. Their problems started when they went to the NFL.

Recruits and their parents love Stew. Doesn't matter how much talent he gets because he won't be able to coach it.

LOL...no, you meant he may have been the best DT on ND, maybe the best RB, WR, Oline, etc, etc!

But definately NOT the best DT on OSU or any other position. You see, thats the difference between a top 10 program, and a wannabe one.

Anybody actually have a final score of the game?

I'm not really worried about OSU yet. If we get Henderson and add a couple of pieces between now and Feb. 3rd, I'll be happy. We're loaded next year anyways

With the Petey crap going on at USC, I'd think OSU chances of landing Henderson have increased.

I'm trying to imagine all the backroom dealings going on for top recruits between Saban, Meyer and Kiffin. Good coaches, horrible people.

Saban is on record as a blatant liar and Meyer is constantly whining about everything, the latest being his health, and I heard on ESPN Radio yesterday he is right back out there on the recruiting trail as hard as ever. All of these guys are egomaniacs who will lie without so much as one second's worth of conscience.

sounds like your the biggest whinner of all of them

ESPN Radio is wrong. Meyer is not the Gator coach visiting Hicks 'in home' this week, so he is not recruiting as hard as ever. But you can keep thinking he is a horrible person. I think Saban and Kiffin are.

It doesn't take much to get you riled up and spewing shit. That's one of rocket's more mild posts and I've actually called him out before but this isn't one of those times where it's necessary. If that post of his bothered you that much that you had to bash ND that hard....you need some thicker skin.
