This isn't Detroit dumbass. Fans will still show up.Classyposter58;1880169 wrote:Yeah Barrett forced it a bit much. But they gave up 38 to Penn State, and now 55 to Iowa.
On a bright note, MSU tickets should be cheap -
SpockOSU should never give up 55 to Iowa. They have better players at every position. Coaches got ourcoahed

ironman02The common thread in every one of the recent Ohio State losses is refusing to establish the running game with the RBs. When the offense starts relying on Barrett to run the football more than the RBs, the Buckeyes lose. It's a recipe for disaster, but it keeps being repeated. I get that Ohio State was playing from behind today, but it was a two score game at halftime. The defense got a couple stops to start the 2nd half, but Ohio State had three straight 3 and outs to start the half. Not one touch for a RB during those series. This is not a Kevin Wilson problem because it was happening before he arrived. It's an Urban Meyer problem.
JT was bad today. He made two terrible decisions, and now his confidence is gone yet again. I really thought he had turned the corner and made progress, but I think he is messed up mentally again, and I can only hope that he can get it back before next week. Dantonio will make our offense look foolish if we revert back to those same tendencies of trying to run the ball with JT anytime things get tight.
Defensively, we miss Luke Fickell a lot. The LBs have been out of position constantly against Oklahoma and Iowa. You can't tell me that Jerome Baker, Dante Booker, and Chris Worley can't cover FBs and TEs. They look lost out there somehow. Arnette and Webb, and even Fuller today, can't cover anyone or tackle anyone. If the D-Line doesn't completely dominate the game, those guys can't do anything.
So many different problems. -

they'll be in the 14-16 range. -

This happens every time the Buckeyes have lost. It amazes me that this happens. Two pretty good backs and they dont get to touch the ball. Very disappointed in this game. Really have not words to express how pissed I am about the coaching in the game.ironman02;1880189 wrote:The common thread in every one of the recent Ohio State losses is refusing to establish the running game with the RBs. -
SpockUrban coaching for a heisman and not a win. Iowa probably spent all week scheming for JT.

vball10setOne word. Embarrassing.

Good QBs are consistent. JT has never been consistent. That’s my beef with him.ernest_t_bass;1880159 wrote:JFC. STFU... do you not remember last week? JT Barrett was incredible last week, the JT of Old. Plays like shit today, and right back to the vitriol.
Fans are the fucking worst -

Good point. There was a reason OSU won a title with Jones. He was a real QB.SportsAndLady;1880207 wrote:Good QBs are consistent. JT has never been consistent. That’s my beef with him. -
HereticLet's see:
1. Defense was utter trash, making Iowa's QB look Heisman-worthy (to their credit, their receivers were on yesterday, catching a lot of throws that were a bit off). Do they even have a secondary or are they bringing in random guys off the street to try to cover people?
2. Barrett was bad. Can't even say he was reverting to form after last week's great game, since he never was that error-prone previously.
3. Play-calling was atrocious. Running backs were forgotten about, putting everything on the shoulders of a QB who was struggling mightily.
For a good chunk of the first half, it looked like an ugly game that would either be close throughout or close until OSU surged in the second half. Then, they completely fell apart in the final minutes of the second quarter and never recovered. Barrett's second pick not only turned 24-17 into 31-17 right before the half, but also seemed to utterly destroy him confidence-wise and Urban showed a complete lack of awareness of that, continuing to make him the focal point of every single play. Just bizarre how a legitimately great coach can be so blind to how things are going in the middle of a game and be unable to adjust, instead of blindly doubling down on what isn't working. -

Jesus fucking christ...Spock;1880208 wrote:Good point. There was a reason OSU won a title with Jones. He was a real QB.
Jones had an amazing three-game stretch that drastically inflated his draft stock. If he was a "real QB", he wouldn't have fallen off a cliff production-wise at the beginning of the next year, leading to QB Musical Chairs for a good chunk of the season between him and Barrett. Frank Reich syndrome at its finest. -

don't waste your time arguing with spock and sportsandlady. they don't use logic like you or i. one of them is an avid trump supporter, the other is a browns fan.Heretic;1880220 wrote:Jesus fucking christ...

You're the only one ignoring facts (such as that I never used the word "luck", for one). Jones was great in three games; after that, he was merely pedestrian as far as on-field results. You can't simply pick the three best games out of a person's career and say he's a "real QB" in comparison to another guy when in other games, he was equal or inferior to that guy.Spock;1880235 wrote:So lets ignore the facts by calling it "luck"?
