se-alumThose rankings don't bode well for the Pac-12. Is a win at Wazzou(2 losses already)enough to get them in? Rankings obviously favor BIG and SEC.

mcburg93I am surprised with Washington and aTm. I would have guessed Washington would be fourth.

SportsAndLadyA&M ahead of washington is a joke, but it's early. I'm sure Washington will jump them if they keep winning.

The committee had to do something to get people to tune into their reality show.SportsAndLady;1820879 wrote:A&M ahead of washington is a joke, but it's early. I'm sure Washington will jump them if they keep winning. -

Talking points, that is all polls are used for. I hate that they do preseason polls.superman;1820887 wrote:The committee had to do something to get people to tune into their reality show. -
Azubuike24Yeah, Nebraska controls their own destiny. Except they suck and probably lose at least 2 more times. It's the same with Florida.

It doesn't change the fact that they control their own destiny.Azubuike24;1820902 wrote:Yeah, Nebraska controls their own destiny. Except they suck and probably lose at least 2 more times. It's the same with Florida. -

Yeah but that's not what you fucking said, Buike. If you say "there's only 6 teams with a chance" and the actual number is 10'ish, you can't just say, "well yeah, but those teams sucks and will lose 2 more games."Azubuike24;1820902 wrote:Yeah, Nebraska controls their own destiny. That's bringing subjectivity into an objective statement and it's what you do and it drives me fucking crazy lol -
Azubuike24Okay
Then Boise State, Western Michigan, West Virginia and Baylor are also legit playoff contenders. Heck, throw in any 2-loss team.
I was projecting... -

Clemson should've lost 2 or more times, but they haven't. We've all seen far crazier things than what I laid out for Wisconsin.
Nebraska, A&M, Florida and Auburn are of course long shots but wasn't LSU #1, lost and dropped to #7 in final week but then jumped back into championship game vs OSU after everyone lost? -
Classyposter58
No not this one. It actually determines everything in the system which is why A&M should not be above Washington. What a jokemcburg93;1820892 wrote:Talking points, that is all polls are used for. I hate that they do preseason polls. -

True. So we probably shouldn't even talk playoff then. Technically, 20 teams are probably still in discussion. Reality? Like I said, maybe 6 or 7.Ironman92;1820970 wrote:Did you ever say legit?

As for Clemson, not impressed. However, they have beaten everyone with a chance to beat them on their schedule. Maybe Virginia Tech in the conference title game? That still puts them at 12-1, and in the mix.
Like I said, Florida and Nebraska are pretenders who have their schedules backloaded. Both will lose at least twice more. Same with West Virginia and Baylor, who probably lose at least 2 more as well. -

This one doesn't mean anything. Only the last one does. Anything up to those is just a chance for ESPN to fill a Tuesday night ratings slot.Classyposter58;1820971 wrote:No not this one. It actually determines everything in the system which is why A&M should not be above Washington. What a joke -

Congrats to Bama.
Who do we think will be the playoff teams for next season? -
SportsAndLady
Realistically, only 6 teams have a chance next year.Ironman92;1821047 wrote:Then no need to discuss or even play the games.

Everyone else will lose more than 2 games. -
vball10setESPN's David Pollack (last night) and Mike Greenberg (this morning) both said that OSU's loss to Penn State was "in overtime"...don't these guys do their homework?
-
Azubuike24Lets re-visit the chances of Nebraska and Florida after this weekend. We definitely should be ramping up that Western Michigan playoff hype though.

Agreed. I think they are just sending a message that a shitty schedule doesnt fly in their eyes. Thing is, they have shown that they can and do change this on a weekly basis and simply winning doesnt keep you in the same spot or higher. If Wash and TAM win out the Huskies will sill be above them, presuming that Alabama goes to the SEC conf champ game.SportsAndLady;1820879 wrote:A&M ahead of washington is a joke, but it's early. yeah, that never happens... -

I don't think it is a joke based on current resume. Best win for Washington is Utah....and their best non-conference win is Rutgers? Very weak SOS. I do agree if they win out there is not enough evidence to say A&M as a non champion is better than a Power 5 champion (part of their criteria on excluding a champion in favor of a non champion).SportsAndLady;1820879 wrote:A&M ahead of washington is a joke, but it's early. So this poll determines who is in the playoffs? Dang I really thought playing the rest of the season actually mattered. Only time this poll matters is after the last game of the season before the playoffs and bowl selection. So now do you understand why polls suck? This poll should not be released until week 11 or even 12. Only reason its released this early is talking points and to get people arguing over who is in and who isnt.Classyposter58;1820971 wrote:No not this one. supermanSo the idiots on Gameday are saying that the committee rewarded A&M and punished Washington due to OOC scheduling. Washington played Rutgers, Idaho and Portland State. aTm played UCLA, Prairie View A&M and Texas San Antonio. Smdh

Ironman92Lol, guess I've never heard Ed Orgeron talk wth ?

wildcats20Texas A&M is taking the 4th spot seriously this week.

and dont forget their "good" loss! It is just there to send a message....even if TAM wins out and wash wins out.....TAM wont be ahead of Wash unless bama loses twice and TAM goes to the SEC and wins it.superman;1822024 wrote:So the idiots on Gameday are saying that the committee rewarded A&M and punished Washington due to OOC scheduling.
