I've seen him play, and it's unimpressive. Hell, I played against him. Again, unimpressed.cologino wrote: your wrong, the kid can play...maybe not qb there but he can play -
knowmyfactsDaBrowns41-Played against him in two seasons, huh? Then you were more than likely on the losing end and clearly bitter.
I don't need to defend his talent, his stats speak for themselves.
But I will say this:
I played against Pentello and with him in the north/south allstar game- He is a HELL of a ball player. And his "attitude" problem? You just made that up man. He is quiet and humble. The most I heard him even speak was about God, favorite bible versus and some video game. He's got a great attitude, and passion for the game of football and has skill to back it up. Looking forward to seeing him on the field again. Best of Luck Roc...been too long. -

Between him and Nick Moore, I don't know who talked more shit on Friday nights.knowmyfacts wrote: DaBrowns41-Played against him in two seasons, huh? Then you were more than likely on the losing end and clearly bitter.

Elijah Griffen on the other hand, was a class act.
Maybe he's changed since then, and maybe it was because of the rivalry our schools had, but in those 2 games, he was a huge prick, and cocky as hell.
He was a quick QB that couldn't throw. Think Josh Nesbitt, but a bit smarter. Which is why he's playing safety now, just like Bellisari. -
DaBrowns41And, I can assure you that I'm not bitter. I'm not bitter about Brandon Saine or Jimmy Cordle. Piqua beat us, and Lancaster knocked us out of the playoffs.
I just wouldn't attribute much of the WS football team success on Pentello. It wasn't hard for him to just throw the ball in the air and let his tall, lanky receivers make a play, or hand it off to Griffen, who was a small, but very fast runner. -
thedynasty1998First off, just because someone talks trash on a football field doesn't make them a bad person. I know plenty of guys (myself included) who loved to talk on the playing field (or court in my instance). From everything I've heard, he's a good kid who just wants a chance to play. I think he probably knew he was over reaching when he went to OSU in the first place and just continues getting passed on the depth chart. He's been a good practice player and good for the program.
As for his family, his cousin was Rocky who played at Capital. I think maybe Rocco's name is Rocky and that is why his dad is Sr. -
derek bomarevery time I hear the name Pentello I throw up a little

They, as all WS football players, were specifically coached to do this by the head coach. Classless.DaBrowns41 wrote:

Um, I played at south, never coached to do that. But 10 sweet points for you.wkfan wrote:

Either you didn't play for Pentello, didn't recognize what was happening or didn't play enough to get the 'special coaching'.detectivegibbles wrote:

pharmerbuckeye23While the starting QB spot may technically be open, I think Housewright has it pretty much locked up. Someone brought up Rocco being an All-State QB, but Housewright was the DII Offensive Player of the Year for his senior season. He redshirted his freshman year while Cundiff started to preserve his eligibility. He's been groomed into AU's system and is a very skilled QB, while Pentello, talented as he may be, is undoubtedly rusty at the position. I'd say he keeps Housewright on his toes, but is given limited opportunity to start at best. He'll probably be back at safety by next fall.

thedynasty1998All the haters are just making themselves to be fools. And I'm not talking about derek bomar, I'm talking about the one's that don't like someone because he talked trash in a HS football game.
Get over it! -

If you're talking to me, I could not care less what a punk HS kid talked on the field. The real issue is that he was purposefully coached to do it by the head coach.....thedynasty1998 wrote: All the haters are just making themselves to be fools. And how do you know that he was told/coached, by his own father, to talk shit to the other players? -

Pentello the coach presented these tactics at an OCC coaches meeting a few years ago. Pretty disturbing stuff that he taught his players to do.....detectivegibbles wrote:wkfan wrote:

thedynasty1998Who cares? Does talking trash make someone a dirty player? You are not saying he told his guys to play dirty are you?
I for one think you can gain an advantage by talking trash successfully. You can get guys frustrated and make them do things they wouldn't normally do. From my own personal experience, I talked a lot of trash to the guy I was playing against in college basketball. There were games where I completely took guys out of their game because I would get them so frustrated.
Maybe Pentello thinks he can gain an advantage by it? I don't fault him one bit for it.
And you are obviously one of the guys who let it affect them. Sorry you were a victim to their strategy that obviously works. -

Nope...never played or coached against him or one of his teams....just find his tactics insulting to the coaching profession.thedynasty1998 wrote: Who cares? Does talking trash make someone a dirty player? You are not saying he told his guys to play dirty are you?

Rocky Pentello is a hell of a coach and does not "coach" his players to play "dirty." You are defaming his character by posting lies. If you knew the guy you wouldn't have one negative thing to say about him. -
queencitybuckeyeActually, my observation was that they were consistently one of the dirtiest teams I saw in Central Ohio, and I have absolutely no dog in the fight.
-
hrspeedmerchantWith a Hollywood name like Storm Klein you can take it to the bank that he'll be a player!

And what games did you see this happen in?queencitybuckeye wrote: Actually, my observation was that they were consistently one of the dirtiest teams I saw in Central Ohio, and I have absolutely no dog in the fight.
Was it vs Central crossing in 2005 when a central crossing player straddled a WS player and strangled him on a 4th quarter kick off...and south was praised by CENTRAL CROSSING's head coach for their maturism in the way they handled the situation? How they didn't throw any punches or do anything in an aggresive manner...
