I wouldn't know if JT can throw or not since we never do it.

Did you watch the Rutgers game?

Yes I also watched the MSU game from last year when he threw 300+ yds. This is a coaching problem and that falls directly to the offensive coordinator who was a line coach. Sorry but this was a terrible mess this year with talent out the ying yang!

That's what I was getting it. JT can launch it if needed.

I think it's a combo of the coaches and also our WRs being average.

This has been my feeling about the whole season. They won a NC last year and you had a bunch of guys coming back "smelling themselves" because of how good everyone was telling them they were. Lackluster performance, week after week, made me feel there would be a hiccup along the way. I could see them losing this Saturday.

OSU better come out with a willingness to throw downfield, because #ichigan will put 8 guys up in the box like everyone else has done this season. it's not a lack of talent on the Buckeyes as much as the unwillingness/unpreparedness/inability to throw the ball over the top.

Which begs the question as to whether Meyer should've brought Cardale out to start the 2nd half against MSU.

It may have been mentioned previously, but just the threat of OSU being able to throw the long ball would've possibly made MSU take a few guys out of the box and open up the running game. I know the weather sucked but MSU would've had to respect Jones' arm.

I think JT is better for Meyer's system but last Saturday was the one case for the QB "musical chairs."

Unlike some previous posts, I don't think JT's going to beat anyone with his arm and I don't think anyone fears OSU's aerial attack when he's in there. He makes his "money" with his legs.

Good point. Putting Jones out there opens up the offense substantially.

OSU also had the wind to their back in that 3rd quarter. It would've been the time to do it but, as they say, hindsight is 20/20.

I love Meyer as a coach but this QB situation this year has been a clusterfuck. Whether it was because he thought he "owed" Cardale for him (Jones) returning or what, this QB by committee shit doesn't usually work.

Whatever they, if OSU does what they did last week, they will lose

For whatever reason they haven't shown it this year, but JT can definitely throw the ball. Last year he completed 64% of his passes for 2800 yards and 34 tds. I have no idea why he seems to only run the ball this year.

Anyone going to the game on Saturday?

Ohio St must've thought I shelled out $500 to attend last week's game. The joke is on them though because I witnessed the trash play from my love seat.

JT can throw the deep ball well. I forget who mentioned it but he shredded MSU last season with it. Honestly it's not him, it's the coaches

Yeah the terrible missed deep pass when Miller was wide open was totally on the coaches.

Exactly. Just because you can throw the ball far, doesn't mean your accurate, or want to do it consistently. As I said on last page he's akin to Alex Smith. CAN throw it deep, but isn't as accurate as needed so takes the safe play, or throw

Sorry he missed one throw? Lol guy is the big ten single season passing record holder, I trust he's a good passer

You realize stats don't make someone good right?

You that big of an idiot? Lol he threw 34 TD's while almost rushing for a 1000 yards and 11 TD's. You're right, you don't need to be good to do that

You're right. He's basically a mix of tom Brady and michael Vick.

I never said that. But to think he's the issue with the offense is laughable

Wow. Who the fuck said anything him being the problem?

The issue was you saying because of his stats in 2014, he's a great passer in 2015.

Classy being a dumb fuck per usual? SHOCKER!!!
  • lhslep134
Barrett is certainly capable of being a good deeper throw passer but the fact of the matter is he's inconsistent and that inconsistency cost us our best chance at a body blow to MSU.

The coaches are responsible for some of the blame. And so is Barrett.
