LOL the butthurt is strong here. Golson was so bad he was beat out by a very green Zaire and took his penchant for turnovers with him to Tallahassee. If you want to consider Golson the 1 for "1 and 2" then what does that say about your program? LOLsherm03;1750886 wrote:LOL. OK bro.
If you want to get technical, ND is now to their 3rd string QB. Golson and Zaire would have been 1 and 2. So they are on QB 3 from the Spring depth chart.
And they are also on their 3rd string RB. The #2 back was ruled academically ineligible and transferred, and then the injury to Folston.
So go ahead and try to compare OSU's injuries last year to ND this year. It isn't even close. It's still early, and ND could end up still being alright. But let's not try to act like OSU would have won it all facing the same injuries/transfers last year. -
AutomatikI didn't see any excuses being made.
So you're not even allowed to point out when your team is fucked by injuries anymore? LOL -

This is an excuse for having a bad season:Automatik;1750933 wrote:I didn't see any excuses being made.

You are. But ND would not win anything this year at full strength anyway injuries or not.Automatik;1750933 wrote:I didn't see any excuses being made.

Not sure how anything I said would qualify as "butthurt" other than it sucks that two years in a row my team has been completely decimated by injuries.lhslep134;1750932 wrote:LOL the butthurt is strong here. And yes, Golson and Zaire would have been platooning. I mean, he did lead ND to a National Championship. So it's hard to turn your back on him. He left because he was probably going to split time (not that he was beat out) and after his God awful season last year, he needed every snap to prove he wasn't that guy that everyone saw last year. But Golson's talent aside, before he transferred, Kizer was the #3 QB. So ND is on their #3 QB for this season and had to pull a red shirt to give Kizer a decent backup.
I can't argue with that. I said that they could just as easily be 8-5 this year even before all the injuries.sleeper;1750944 wrote:You are. But ND would not win anything this year at full strength anyway injuries or not. -

This doesn't qualify as butthurt?sherm03;1750946 wrote:Not sure how anything I said would qualify as "butthurt"

If it does, then we have different definitions of butthurt.lhslep134;1750974 wrote:This doesn't qualify as butthurt? -

Whoops. Forgot to add "appearance" in there. My bad. Let's chalk it up to the fact that the game was such a dick kicking that I got black-out drunk by half time and didn't see how it ended up...queencitybuckeye;1751018 wrote:He did? -

Exactly! Any team will be fucked losing their top 2 qb's and rb's, not to mention the starting TE and nose guard as well. Especially playing a tough schedule and not shit teams week after week.Automatik;1750933 wrote:I didn't see any excuses being made.

I guess I just didn't see the need to add in the part about what OSU would or would not have done, as it just seemed unnecessary considering the unprecedented nature of what the Buckeyes did last year.
Injuries are a important part of football. Every team deals with injuries. Not every team overcomes those injuries to win a national championship. You used injuries as a justification to expect another down year for ND, when Ohio State showed what's possible last year, and then you derided the Buckeyes by saying if they were in ND's position they would not have won.
That seems full of butthurt when you could have just said the injuries impact ND more than they did OSU because of the talent differential on the rest of the roster and/or the week-to-week strength of schedule. If you disagree with me classifying that as butthurt, then my apologies. -

OK. No butthurt here. But my bad if you took it that way.lhslep134;1751029 wrote:I knew what you meant.

TiernanIt's much more fun when ND is relevent and I for one hated to see Zaire go out but it is wag at it is and they will slink back into the shadows once again, spending all their time polishing trophies from the 40s, 50s & 60s and talking about how Johnny Lujack got screwed on the Heisman.

It won't happen until they get a good coach. You would think top tier coaches would be banging on the door to coach there but it seems they keep settling for average(Weis and Kelly are average at best).Tiernan;1751224 wrote:It's much more fun when ND is relevent and I for one hated to see Zaire go out but it is wag at it is and they will slink back into the shadows once again, spending all their time polishing trophies from the 40s, 50s & 60s and talking about how Johnny Lujack got screwed on the Heisman. -
MontyBrunswickND was definitely in the championship hunt before they lost zaire. Kelly was going to turn him around and have him in heisman form by seasons end

I was trying to be nice. I actually think Weis and Kelly are the worst fucking coaches in America.Heretic;1751397 wrote:Calling Weis average is an insult to every average human on this planet. -

Well, Willingham at least deserves credit because he must have been a solid recruiter, as it was his classes that Weis rode to actual decent seasons. When his kids were all gone and it was just up to Weis, man, they fell off a cliff immediately.Crimson streak;1751398 wrote:Lol exactly. Weis and willingham were the worst.

And besides a blow out loss in the title game, ND hasn't been relevant since. They needed to fire Kelly yesterday.Heretic;1751401 wrote:Well, Willingham at least deserves credit because he must have been a solid recruiter, as it was his classes that Weis rode to actual decent seasons.
