77LegendThanks buddy! I'm telling you now. I've covered Columbus Ohio (Marion-Franklin) QB Verlon Reed. He is good. A true QB. He will be this class' sleeper. Watch out! Go Bucks!

charliehustle14The class will still get bigger and better as OSU waits on possible commits from some top players. But with a lot of playerss coming back next season and the last 2 classes being very good, if there was ever a year that OSU could have a down recruiting year, it's this one.
I just hope we land Shariff Floyd and Jordan Hicks in this year's class. -
BlueDevil11According to Rival's OSU is 25th.
According to ESPN, OSU is 14th. -
devil1197This is a great year to have limited scholarships for Ohio State. You have a majority of the starters returning and most of these recruits won't see significant time outside of possibly an OL or DT player.
OSU's ranking won't be good because they won't have the quantity that most schools will have. OSU has limited scholarships but they will be bring in great players.
OSU still has these guys their going after:
Seantrel Henderson OL
Latawn Anderson ATH
Cristian Bryant DB
Matt James OL
Shariff Floyd DT
Jordan Hicks LB
Jon Hankins DT
Brad Roby CB/WR
With possibly late offers to a couple guys depending upon who transfer (Thomas etc). I see them getting Henderson, Floyd, Bryant, Anderson, Hankins. Just from what I've read nothing insider info or anything.
Out of all those guys, OSU really needs Henderson, Floyd, and Hankins. The Buckeyes will need depth at the DT spot with Worthington and Denlinger graduating and you can never have too many stud OL guys. -
77LegendSad to see Thomas go, if he does transfer. Let's hope we won't have too many enter the Draft

Yeah I forgot about Henderson and the Glenville Boys. Getting them along with Floyd and/or Hicks would make this a pretty damn good class.devil1197 wrote: This is a great year to have limited scholarships for Ohio State. devil1197I don't think we have to get Hicks at all.
Yes, I would take him in a heartbeat but I wouldn't be upset to see him go to Texas. OSU is stacked at the LB spot and he wouldn't see more than ST next season. -

No offense at all towards Verlon, but his mechanics are not very good when talking about passing. Yes he can run great, but his throwing mechanics look no better than Terrelle's. He needs to learn to extend his arm, step into his throws more and follow thru. I have seen sevral video highlights of hi and saw this on all of them. Wish I would have watched him live though...much better to grade. GOod Luck to him though77Legend wrote: Thanks buddy! I'm telling you now. darbypitcher22draft status could definately change what direction the Bucks go in with certain guys.
From looking at the commits so far, its nice to see 2 DE's, but Jamel Turner will have to beef up from 210 or risk getting switched to OLB early on in his career.
I definately like another big back like Roderick Smith, and seeing a 6'7" guy like Tyrone Williams coming in would be nice to have to go along with Posey.... two HUGE targets -
thedynasty1998Posey isn't a HUGE target.
Hicks from what I hear is a Big Time player, and even though OSU has depth, he would certainly get PT early.
A player to keep in mind in addition to the returners is Tyler Moeller. He was set to get plenty of PT this year, but had to redshirt. He is just adds more depth to an already very experienced OSU defense. -
darbypitcher22Posey is at least 6'4"..... pretty nice sized guy to be throwing the ball to if you ask me
-
thedynasty1998No he isn't. Not even close to 6'4". He's listed at 6'3" and isn't that tall.
-
darbypitcher22who really gives a shit about his height anyways, the guy can move has a lanky body that he uses to get between him and defenders and can move in the open field
-
charliehustle14I don't know if it's true or not but I heard Tyrone Williams is having grade/qualification issues. I hope it's not true. The last time we had a chance to get a huge WR, Josh Chichester (6'8), he couldn't qualify and ended up at Louisville where he had a decent RS Freshman season.
Keep in mind that Carter is a big target too. He's pushing 6'3 now and has a very long wing span. I hope he gets his shit together. -
darbypitcher22I'm sure his father is having a long discussion with him about making sure his academics are in order

Sounds like Duron thought being a football player and son of a football legend would take care of his school work for him. -
darbypitcher22quite possibly could have happened.
hopefully missing this was a little bit of a wake up call and he'll get his shit together and have a good spring and summer and have a bigger role in the offense next season.... -

Which is why I don't believe he makes it back on the field until he proves it to me. He is a child of privilege and if discipline wasn't instilled in him by now, I'm not betting it's going to be there later.charliehustle14 wrote:

Getting out of academic holes is not easy. Duron has one heck of a climb ahead of him. -
devil1197Talking Hicks PT I hope you mean special teams. He won't be seeing any signficant time at LB unless some major injuries happen.
Posey is going to be a very good WR for Ohio State and is a nice target. Carter will be back as the #3 WR next year unless he is still ineligible. Come on, Ray Small had much more trouble (on a small scale) and he still played for OSU. -
darbypitcher22Duron will get over the academic issues. Hopefully he works his way out of Tress's doghouse for it and gets the opportunity to produce

You were the one that said he's a "HUGE target".darbypitcher22 wrote: who really gives a shit about his height anyways, the guy can move has a lanky body that he uses to get between him and defenders and can move in the open field -
darbypitcher22And I stand by that statement, that he finds ways to make himself a big target to get the football to
