UNC a 6? UK an 8? Those teams played brutal OOC schedules...
I agree both teams were slightly under seeded, but only slightly. And both got good draws. I'm sure Kentucky would rather be an 8 and potentially play Wichita in the second round, as opposed to be a 7 play potentially other 2's.

Yes, I like UK's draw. However, the draw is the draw. The seeds, however, should be able to be hashed out objectively and then whatever match-ups that creates, so be it.

Sibert said earlier in the season he'd like the opportunity to play OSU. Jordan, you got your wish, but along with it comes Craft...should be a good one.

I agree, but that is always the case. And usually it is at most 1-2 seeds over or under where most people would put them. Plus the committee has to take conference affiliation into consideration for the early rounds. Overall, I can see why SMU fans are angry but they only have their schedule to blame. I don't know why UConn is seeded so high, or why Pitt is seeded so low (if I was a Florida fan I'd be very concerned about that matchup), but for the most part it seemed like a reasonable bracket.

Dick Vitale just called out the committee big time. He said Ohio State vs Dayton? Guarantee they are sitting there going "ohhhhhhhhh, lets get these teams to play." He's certainly right...

Those 2 should be playing. It's a travesty that they don't play more often.

Since they moved to the field of 68 there really hasn't been much boo hooing about bubble teams anymore.

Were it still 64, those last 4 that got in would have been the traditional bubble types that were left out. They have watered it down some now as you really don't see many high quality teams left out anymore like you used to.

OSU would NEVER play in UD Arena...and Dayton doesn't need to bow down and settle for anything less than a home and home.

I wish OSU, UC, X and UD would all play. Same with UK and Western Kentucky/Murray State.

Lol I'm sure he's shaking in his boots

Does anyone really think there is a rivalry between Dayton and Ohio State? If it is a ticket grab, that is one thing, but it is hardly anything to be upset about. Dayton is one of the country's biggest Catholic schools, how many of its students are from out of state that don't care about Ohio State?

If it puts butts in seats, it is good for the pod hosting arenas. I don't see anything objectionable about it.
  • Azubuike24
Any school in Ohio not named Ohio State will have a rivalry (even if it's short-term) with OSU.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Yeah, but they were both seeded properly - I didn't see Dickie V's talk, what was he upset about?

He wasn't upset about anything. He was just making a point about how it doesn't seem to be a coincidence.

But two of the other 11 seeds are Iowa and Nebraska. That left a 50/50 chance that the opponent would be Dayton.
  • Mulva
He is very jaundiced looking right now, though.
  • wildcats20
So Carolina was the 21st overall seed. Meaning they just missed out on the 5 line. I still don't agree with a 6 for them.
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Most people wouldn't, and would put them at a 5, but if they can get by Iowa St. they have the easiest 2 with 'Nova. I think it is a good draw for them.

What seed is Kansas State in the NIT, Azu? LOL

C'mon you actually thought they'd be left out? I told you, 7 teams, locks, from the Big 12.

I am stunned that Duke drew UMass as a six seed. The selection committee had the perfect opportunity to match Duke/Kentucky in a 3 vs. 6 scenario. That might never happen again, as long as K and Calipari are at the helm. Duke-UConn probably isn't as appealing a matchup to the committee anymore now that Jim Calhoun has retired.

I'm also glad that neither happened.
  • se-alum
It should be comical to see OSU play against that 'Cuse zone, providing they both can win their first games, which certainly isn't a lock, especially for OSU.

"I am stunned that Duke drew UMass as a six seed."

I think Duke got a good draw to the sweet sixteen - now after that. Well....

I still don't get why Florida got potentially Pitt in the second round. Perhaps I'm giving too much credibility to Sagarin's ratings, but Pitt is physical and clan play with anyone.
  • Iliketurtles
LOL that was awesome by Dickie V.
  • ralphus33
I'd like to see UMass (an A-10 team) knock out Duke in the 2nd round after Coach K said the A-10 didn't deserve 6 teams.

Those are pretty much my sentiments as well. If Duke can survive Mercer -- and that will be a fight, at least for awhile -- then I think the road ends with Michigan. While I don't believe the Wolverines are the better team, I simply do not think Duke will beat them twice.

Digger Phelps' national championship: Michigan State over Oklahoma State.

He needs fired for that IMO.
  • SportsAndLady
Michigan St has been shitty all year, all of a sudden every person is taking them to win the title. No way
