Should Ohio State start the season #1? Also, TP and DR debate

  • Manhattan Buckeye
Unlike certain SEC schools, they don't play the likes of Chattanooga, Furman and Western Carolina in "bye" weeks later in the season.

If Ohio St. is undefeated, they will play ahead of a 1 loss SEC team.

And by the way, the NCAA needs to reel in these ridiculous schedules from the SEC. If nothing else I-AA teams if not banned from scheduling, should not play I-A teams after October 1.

    lol

    They don't play anyone?!

I understand they don't have the most brutal schedule in the world (somewhere around 60-80 in SoS), but Jesus they aren't playing in the MAC.

@ NW, @ Michigan, Wisconsin...and then the Big Ten Title Game (most likely MSU).

If Ohio State is 12-0, they ARE in the BCSNC Game.

Until the Defense is a proven entity they probably shouldn't even be #2. If the 7 newbies coming in are as good as their hype says they are, they definitely run the table and play in the NCG. Bama has a couple of holes to fill too but on paper they look strong and should be there too come Jan.6.

OSU is ranked right where they should be at #2.

OSU's schedule is fine. Cal falling off of being a semi productive football team has hurt a bit but the big OOC games will resume going forward.

If OSU runs the table, they will be in the NCG. We would never see a team of OSU's caliber (24-0 at that point) be left out of the biggest game of the year especially with the amount of fans and $$$ that follows them to the game sites.

Actually at 12-0 they're in the b1g title game.

No one should be above 'Bama until 'Bama proves otherwise.

Ya know I really like Georgia this season. I don't feel like Alabama will get there actually, they'll be good but I don't expect them to get all the way

    That i$ the bottom-line.

I'd love to hear a case where a 13-0 Ohio State team doesn't get into the NCG anyways. Regardless of the money.

    SEC bias. OSU hate.

    That's all there is.

Any of them on a 25 game winning streak?

Doubt you could come up with a scenario with other undefeateds that would leave OSU out based on merit alone, not money.

If they are doing it right, that shouldn't matter.

Still waiting for you to actually provide me with a legitimate example...

Of what? I can't predict the future.

Oregon goes undefeated blowing out some pretty good teams and OSU goes undefeated winning many close games. There is your "possible" scenario. Im NOT saying its likely but if you don't think there is a single scenario out there then im not sure what to tell you.

Alright, so all we've come up with so far is Oregon and Ohio State going undefeated...and somehow Ohio State being left out of the championship game...with apparently no other undefeated team.

Not asking you to predict the future Web, just give me a hypothetical scenario where an undefeated Ohio State team doesn't make the championship game.

What purpose does that serve? We could make hypotheticals all day long.

It would serve the purpose of backing up your claim that a scenario does exist. If you can't come up with one, then STFU.

That was already done, and you want more. So you can STFU.
