2013 Michigan Wolverines

I've said it all year… this teams biggest problem, it's only MAJOR flaw is the offensive line. Everything else is a domino effect. Protect him and Gardner is damn near unstoppable. I'm fine with him being back, I think it's good for the program.

I was fine with him returning. It was the staff part I was pissed about.

You don't need an offensive line that is good if you run an offense like they did against OSU. They have plenty of weapons for that screen passing game.

Gardner made very few tough passes saturday. Though he made some great ones. Most of their game was screens, which was genuis.

If Hoke retains Borges, he has pretty much put his future at Michigan in his hands. If the offense under performs next year and they are not competing for a league title, I think they will all be gone.
  • se-alum
Yep, Hoke has to be on the hot seat next season. If they lose 2 games, he should be gone.

11-2, you think he should be fired?

I'm not convinced there won't be changes. He said he "anticipates" everyone will be back, but also said none of the end of year reviews have been done.

    If I had to guess…

    I think Funk leaves.

    Fred Jackson will stay

    Borges will stay.

I guess I should say 2 losses outside of the OSU game. There isn't another team on their schedule that has anywhere the amount of talent that UM does.

Michigan's schedule next year is tougher than 2013. Tough away games.

Doesn't change the fact that they have more talent than anyone on the schedule, outside of OSU.

off topic, but that Michigan 2015 OOC schedule is odd with 4 West-ish coast teams

This sums up the season well.

Never at any point in 2013 did Michigan look fully prepared to do all the little things necessary to win football games. Never at any point did Michigan appear to be fundamentally sound. Never at any point did the team's locker room leadership take charge of the club and put an end to a miserable 1-5 close to the year.

Sure sounds like a coaching issue to me. As others have said, I think Hoke is back next year. But he will have big time pressure. A 4 or more loss season, and he should be gone. Anything better, and I think he continues.
But much is of what is mentioned above in that comment. Its not always the losses. Its HOW you lose and WHO you lose to that can determine a coaches fait.

IMO both Brandon and Hoke should be fired. Hoke is the equivalent of Schwartz, likable but his teams don't do any of the little things needed to win tough games, frankly they were seconds away from being 4-8.

Brandon on the other hand according to many UM ticket holders I know has ruined the experience at the games by whoring it out for money. Band doesn't play at basketball games so they have more seats, student prices are outrageous for both Football and Hockey, and they killed what was the greatest home ice advantage in hockey by pricing out their fans

UM has road games in 2014 against ND, Northwestern, Mich. St and OSU. Home games against App St, Utah, Minnesota, PSU and Indiana. Going to be some tough games for breaking in a new QB.

They will miss Gallon and Toussaint. Funchess is just a load to try to contain and will be a very good player next year.

    Gardner is going pro?

    Toussaint wont be missed.

    Funchess will be solid.

Was thinking Gardner is a senior, sorry.

FWIW… I've read Brandon really supported Hoke because he feels like he can control Hoke. Can you imagine him trying to sit in on a film session with Harbaugh? Harbaugh would've punched him in the mouth.

lol....fwiw, I think they pulled the trigger too early on RichRod. If they allowed him the time to cultivate his own recruits, and if he could've brought in a decent DC, they might have been pretty darn good about now. jmo.

Hell yes it's a coaching problem. Now there is a buzz about problems in the locker room, and possible transfers. What a fucking mess, again.

I used to be a Brandon fan (as many UM fans were), and now not so much (as many UM fans no longer are). There are lots of rumblings from fans about not renewing season tickets because of the increased price and the shitty product being given, plus factoring in a terrible home schedule next year.

The guy is a marketing machine, and seems to only care about money and the "brand". Go fuck yourself.
