I know but I can't put Duke above them having similar records and them beating Duke by 67 points.....I also have trouble with #1 losing to an unranked team via the worst execution ever on a final play.
Do your own man! Take a minute. -

Say that again please....I'm reading it both ways. This is how you think the rankings will be or how you'd rank them this week? -

How I think the teams are playing and how good they actually are. Not how their resume says they should be ranked or how I think they will be tomorrow. In other words, OSU, imo is playing like a top 10 team. But their resume says top 15.Ironman92;1386523 wrote:Say that again please....I'm reading it both ways. Also, lulz at me for forgetting Syracuse. -
reclegend22How I think the rankings should play out Monday...
1. Miami
Definitely playing like the best team in the country right now.
Then Duke, Florida, Indiana, Syracuse and Michigan.
Duke is not really the second best team without Ryan Kelly, but the Blue Devils will still be in that vicinity. With Kelly back -- reports are that he might be back in the next week or two -- and Duke in full form, I think Duke has a claim for being the top team in the country, as do the others teams mentioned above. There is no clear cut team, though. Not at all. -

I realize KU is struggling right now, but they were just on an 18 game win streak; they're still a top 10 team. -

Honestly I would have them outside the top ten right now until they can get things straightened out. TCU is such a terrible loss it's hard for me to put them in the top 10 right now. -

I have trouble not remembering losses to Florida Golf Coast and Indiana State. -

Indiana St. isnt a bad loss, they should probably be ranked this week. They also havent lost with a full team. Tough to win when your best players are out.WebFire;1386541 wrote:Re: Miami

I will never rank a team who has 3 straight losses in the top 10. Sorry. You mustve missed where I said I was ranking off of CURRENT looks and how I think they are currently playing. Not overall resume.SportsAndLady;1386535 wrote:K-State and OSU in over Kansas, who has beaten both of those teams on the road?

IDK, for a supposed #1 team, a loss to an unranked (whether they should be or not) is a bad loss. And, their JV team should be able to beat FGC. I don't know much about the best players being out though, to be honest.Laley23;1386543 wrote:Indiana St. isnt a bad loss, they should probably be ranked this week. And, like you were saying, they may be playing top 5 quality bball, but I don't know about top 5 ranking with the resume. -
reclegend22Re: Miami's losses.
Indiana State is actually a decently competitive team, with wins over three ranked teams (Wichita State, Creighton and Miami) and a win over Ole Miss. Additionally, Indiana State has lost in 2OT to now #15 New Mexico and by seven to then #18 San Diego State. That's pretty legit against a very tough schedule for a mid-major. And Reggie Johnson sat this game out with an injury.
And Florida Gulf Coast is not a team to take lightly, having played Duke even at the half in Cameron Indoor and sitting in first in the Atlantic Sun. -

Especially to 3 unranked teams -

I tend to agree, for the most part. Not about INST, they could beat any top 10 team if they were missing a top 2 player. Duran Scott I think missed those games, and Reggie Johnson missed their other loss. But, without looking, I dont remember exactly which games those players missed. But I know they were missing in some combination in all of them.WebFire;1386548 wrote:IDK, for a supposed #1 team, a loss to an unranked (whether they should be or not) is a bad loss. If you're ranking off CURRENT looks, why do you have Indiana #1 when they just lost 5 days ago to an unranked team?Laley23;1386545 wrote:I will never rank a team who has 3 straight losses in the top 10. They just played their best game of the year on the road versus a (what will be) top 15 team and their loss was not because they were beaten, but collapsed to a (what will be) top 25 team on the raod in a rivalry game. They have more top 25 wins than anyone else, and 3 top 10 wins. Every other team in the top 5 lost except Duke, who looked abysmal versus BC tonight, and overall since Kelly went down I dont think they are better than where I have them.SportsAndLady;1386555 wrote:If you're ranking off CURRENT looks, why do you have Indiana #1 when they just lost 5 days ago to an unranked team? -

You take out KU, a clear top 10 team, because they have lost twice this week to an unranked team. Yet put Indiana #1 despite one loss to an unranked team this week. -

Wrong. The top 10 wins, which is what I was getting at (with the top 25 wins comment) is very current. They happened within the last 5 games...all 3 of them. OSU, MSU and Michigan.SportsAndLady;1386561 wrote:Bolded is irrelevant...this is about the CURRENT state.

Duke...how is an important player being out not relevant?? That makes no sense. Im saying if Kelly is healthy they are probably my #1 team. But without him, they are closer to #5 imo.
We will see where Kansas is ranked tomorrow. I bet not Top 10. And because its the only 2 that I have readily available without searching lol, Seth Davis has Kansas 23rd (ridiculous, I admit) and CBS Sports (Goodman et all) have Kansas 10. Both have IU #1. Davis does his more by current thoughts and CBS does their joint rankings by resume, if I remember correctly.
