  Personally I'm loving this. This guy at best is a lying POS and the second best LB in the country. At worst, he's a terrible human being using someone's death to extract positive publicity and be the second best LB in the country. I hope the media digs and digs and digs until Te'o is outted as the fraud that he is.

  how can you be duped if you say you met the girl? maybe he was duped at first but at some point started lying...as some have already said my first thought was that he is gay and invented this chick because some started to get suspicious because hes not dating anyone..then if she dies you can say you arent dating because you're grieving

  If that's the case, it would make sense... Notre Dame could make sure they don't check the right sources, so when they say it's a hoax and Te'o was duped, they won't be held accountable for that lie... because as far as they knew, it was the truth.

  No matter what the outcome, we know one thing: that Manti Te'o, Manti's family, and Notre Dame are all liars. What exactly they have lied about is yet to be confirmed. But they have all lied for the sake of publicity. I don't care if Te'o WAS duped... they are all liars, and I will think no more or greater of them if it is confirmed he didn't know.

  Anyone else hearing rumblings that the NCAA might open an investigation into the matter at ND? The now unfair and completely untruthful hype helped give ND a recruiting advantage. Loss of scholarships and fines could be on the horizon.

  This is the best case scenario for everyone on that side. It's quite clear that even if this was some elaborate prank, very influential parties, including Te'o himself discovered the truth and continued to perpetuate the lie for their own benefit and gain. Given the timeframes of some of this stuff, it sounds like it could've been going on for a year or more.

  Was just watching ESPN to see what kind of angle they were reporting regarding this. They had on someone (didn't pay attention to who) saying that this most likely just shows Manti Te'o is a victim and doesn't bring a question about his judgment forward.
  
  Yes, he may only be a victim, but how does this not raise questions about his judgment? He showed poor judgment in allowing himself to be taken in by "someone" he never met. He showed poor judgment by allowing the "talk" about him and her meeting go on. He definitely showed poor judgment.
  
  The only way he escapes this completely being a victim if he just admits to being the biggest idiot in the world and making up meeting her so he doesn't seem awkward to his friends and then the whole thing just getting away from him.

  Direct quotes from himself and his father referring to them meeting in person
  Flowers to the funeral?
  She gets in a car wreck, no visit?
  On her death bed, no visit?
