If true...I lost all respect for him.

    Seriously...what the fuck?

    What does "catfish'd" mean?

It's an MTV show about online dating. And they uncover the identity of the other person. And it's rarely who they thought it was.

Was a movie and now show on MTV about online dating. People are in relationships without meeting each other, then when they do, one of them isn't who they say they are.

I've never watched that show. Not sure I ever will either. WTF

    I doubt it.

If true, I won't. But I am going to wait for more details regarding it before I pass judgement.

The ND statement is awful and makes them look stupid. HE said he met her at the nd Stanford game. Explain that..

He's trying to cover something up. Whether that's keeping people from making fun of him for being a Heisman candidate who is in an online relationship...covering up the fact that he's gay...or covering up that he was in on this whole thing.

I don't think the statement makes ND look stupid. It makes Te'o look stupid. The only question I have after reading the statement is how did Notre Dame say to handle the questions that were sure to come up at media day for the BCS title game?

Nd looks stupid because they are saying he's the victim. Also they knew in the 26th of December but never came out until a story was released...

Again...it's possible (read not likely, but a chance of truth) that Te'o really was duped.

But you're right about ND's knowledge and the fact they never said anything until this came out.

Problem is, him having an online relationship for a couple years makes no sense. He's a star on campus. He could get any ***** he wanted. Yet he'd rather date someone he can never see? It makes NO sense.

I agree with that. It's very strange. But it's not completely out of the realm of possibility.

    Excuse me while I LOL.

Unless he's gay and she is actually a he. Then this situation makes a lot of sense.

There's no he or she. It's fake!

I'm far from delusional. I'll admit, I don't want him to be involved with this. I've already said that I've lost at least some respect for him...and that if it turns out he was in on the whole thing, then I will think he's a huge piece of shit.

I'm just trying to provide possible reasons why a star athlete at Notre Dame would rather be in an online relationship. Has anything I posted on the topic been that unreasonable that I should be considered delusional? Sorry that I'm not automatically damning him on this and trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

His web of lies have already been spun. He said on national TV that he met his GF at Stanford, and she visited on Seniors day at ND. Neither of which can remotely be true now. Signs are there man, wake up.

Nobody said she visited on senior day. That's pretty tough considering the "character" was dead 9 weeks before senior day.

I don't think it was senior day this year. I'm finding the quote. I saw it earlier.

I think it's in reference to this quote:
Brian Te'o told multiple reporters that the family had never met Kekua; the Te'os were supposed to spend time with her when they visited South Bend, Ind., for Notre Dame's Senior Day on Nov. 17. The elder Te'o told the South Bend Tribune in October, "[W]e came to the realization that she could be our daughter-in-law. Sadly, it won't happen now."
That was the only mention of Senior Day that I saw.

That could be it. I'm still digging. Because that wouldn't fit on twitter. It was much shorter. But maybe that's it.

Press conference tonight on und.com with Swarbrick just announced.

    Weird. Tweet from Brian Hamilton:

Have now heard of two people, who weren't Manti Te'o, that had phone conversations with "Lennay Kekua." Was a voice on the phone, anyway.
