B1G Alignment: Which divisions do you prefer?

gorocks99Short survey from BTN about divisional alignment: http://btn.com/2012/12/13/take-the-survey-which-division-ideas-do-you-prefer/
Inner/outer, wtf? -
SonofanumpEast West would really make the east alot stronger with just Nebraska and Wisconsin in the west.
-
Laley23I/O is the best scenario for competition, but is just the dumbest idea I have ever heard of.
E/W is good. N/S could also work, but would have the same competitive unbalance as E/W and the line isnt as clear. -
gorocks99I think what makes the most sense is what was floated around when Maryland joined - move Illinois to the Legends, add the new schools to Leaders.
Div A:
Nebraska
Iowa
Minnesota
Northwestern
Illinois
Michigan
Michigan State
Div B:
Purdue
Indiana
Ohio State
Penn State
Wisconsin
Maryland
Rutgers
You have 2 historically great teams on each side (Michigan/Nebraska and Ohio State/Penn State), another few teams that could challenge every few years (Northwestern/Michigan State and Wisconsin/Rutgers) and then some crap teams (Iowa/Minnesota/Illinois and Purdue/Indiana/Maryland). PSU gets to keep with the east coast teams, most of the far west teams stay together (except Wisconsin, fuck them).
If you wanted to do N/S, you'd probably end up with:
North:
Nebraska
Iowa
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Michigan
Michigan State
Northwestern
South:
Illinois
Purdue
Indiana
Ohio State
Penn State
Maryland
Rutgers
But then the North is way better than the South. -

Classyposter58Hahaha how about Great Lakes/Landlubbers conference. Schools close to the Great Lakes in one division...schools far away are Landlubbers
Great Lakes:
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Purdue
Illinois
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Landlubbers:
Minnesota
Iowa
Nebraska
Indiana
Penn State
Maryland

Sounds about as logical is Inner/Outer. You know what would be exciting? Every year we do a blind draw to select divisions. You know how many people would tune in every season for the Big10 Division Selection Show on BTNMohican00;1342236 wrote:no. -

Probably not as many as showed up for the conference championship game. -
stlouiedipalmaYou've got to split the new boys up. Leave Illinois where they are and put Maryland and Rutgers in separate divisions. You can flip a coin as far as I'm concerned, but I wouldn't put them together.

Question? How would Minnesota not be a Great Lake school? #lakesuperior -
bases_loadedThey're gonna have to do this all over again in a couple years. Give the people what they want for those couple years.

Minnesota is actually farther away from a Great Lake than Ohio State isgeorgemc80;1342545 wrote:Question? How would Minnesota not be a Great Lake school? #lakesuperior -

wildcats20Some guy called in on the fan the other night, last night I think, and thought they should name them after the team that won the division the previous year.
For instance, next year's divisions would be the Buckeyes and the Cornhuskers divisions.
I actually like it. It would NEVER happen.but it definitely would be interesting. -
Pick6Dont really care, to be honest. As long as Michigan vs OSU play the last week every year (they will), it doesnt matter to me.

And they need to be in the same division. -
