Craft will score 18 himself, very possible Scott has zero though...lol!

Craft and Scott will be the best backcourt they will ever face in their entire life. Craft is the best defensive guard in college basketball history.

This dude is about to eat crow.

Also, I wish Lenzelle could finish like this in a game, instead of missing layup after layup. And Sam Thompson...nasty!

WTF, Lenzelle is that athletic? Would have never known with the way he has played this year

Got a kick out of, "No dunk for Craft."

To all loyal OSU bball fans, enjoy the tournament. I'll be rooting like hell against them (and IU, UL, Duke), but there's nothing like your team in the NCAA's. This is a geniune post too.

Objectively...I like OSU's draw. Their first 2 games, they won't face a team who is a terrible match-up. While UNM is a quality team, they shouldn't scare OSU. I think down the road, if they are on their game, Arizona could be a team the Bucks have major issues again. Then again, Zona might not even get to the Regional Semis...

And that's a huge dilemma for me. I have two brackets (because I like money). If Wisconsin fails me, my other bracket has Arizona in the Final Four. The Cats have some serious wins over Florida and Miami in which they ran the Canes out of the gym. But the three losses to UCLA among others are baffling to me. I think Arizona an advantage playing out West by already having one of the best traveling fans bases in the country, but they are a hit or miss team that might reach the title game or lose to Belmont tonight.

If all advance, New Mexico, Arizona and Ohio State are in for a dogfight to escape the bottom of that bracket. It should be extremely exciting.

Good luck to Kentucky in the NIT. Should be pretty easy to win, especially the first game because you are playing a school with zero 5-star recruits, not just this year, but in history. Elite schools don't lose to Robert Morris in the NIT. I guess at least you have a good football team to root for in the fall, assuming you don't pick a different school like 99% of UK fans.

Holy hell does Ohio State have the easiest road to the Final Four ever. Wisconsin, a 5 seed with 11 loses, stands to be their toughest game. Why on earth would the committee put NM and Gonzaga in the same Region???

Which is why they will lose early.

    Pod system?

OSU has a weak path to the Final 4. Wisconsin really is the next best team in that region and that was before NM lost.

Right. But leveling out the seeds should come first, per that Sheehan guy, on ESPN. I think is more to do with the fact the computer numbers loved NM even though most of us knew that a mid major is still a mid major

This. Only UNLV in the modern era won a title as a mid major. Every other single champion has been a BCS school

And as much as we want to talk about Butler a few years back, no mid major will ever win one ever again. It's just not possible in this current landscape for a mid major to win 6 straight in March. Not possible at all.

Computers help when there is a lot of cross-over play. The more common opponents the better the numbers will be. But the MWC seemed pretty isolated when you looked at their schedules. Hence the inflated numbers.

Before falling into the trap of picking New Mexico to go far this year I went and looked at their schedule and was thoroughly unimpressed. Just briefly glancing at New Mexico's, Colorado Stat'es UNLV's, Boise's and San Diego's schedules again. Each played about 2 games against Pac-10 schools, but not really any good east coast teams. New Mexico is the exception because they also played 2 Big East teams (UConn and Cinci). But those wins really didn't impress me too much either. Also the fact that New Mexico lost a game 55-34 really made it easy to discount the hype.

It just looks like the league racked up a bunch of wins in OOC play without really playing too many good schools, and then beat up on each other in conference. Heck, even the worse teams in that conferece had a great win% for OOC games, but when you click on their schedule, I have absolutely no idea who some of those schools are.

Wyoming played "PAN", who the hell is PAN? ESPN doesn't even have a valid link for that school.

Or Air Force, they played both WCK and REG. I have no f'ing idea who either of those two schools are? There is no link from the schedule screen to a school. If you click on the game info for those games. You can see the names (Regis and Western St.). But once you click on the names there the only recorded games for both those teams are only that game against Air Force. There is no other record for any other games or anything.

Basically the whole conference had a complete joke of an OOC schedule, and by the "bottom teams" essentially being undefeated OOC by playing schools that pretty much are not real in the D1 college basketball landscape, they each had a gaudy record heading into conference play and thus the conference was overrated.

When you have a situation like this, the "numbers" don't tell the whole story.

What about Memphis a few years ago as well?

I think it can happen as in it is possible. But it is extremely unlikely. And I think we've been hearing too much lately about the rise of mid-majors and the leveling of the playing field between them and the major conferences. Yes, there are some good mid-major programs, but that respect has been spread too thin to some teams who are undeserving of it.

The general consensus lately has been to have loftier expectations for mid-majors and ignore their weaknesses and be overly critical of mid-pack major conference teams instead of recognizing that they play a lot tougher competition on a consistent basis.

It is entirely possible. 3 times in recent history has a mid major player in the final game. We are missed free throws and an almost half court made 3 from having 2 mid major champs.

Not easy but it can be done

Sooooo, nobody has any faith in Gonzaga? lol

Gonzaga sucks. Heck I think even Duke could beat Gonzage even without Ryan Kelly.

Eh it is possible. If they get an hidden star then they definitely have a shot. Gonzaga had Turiaf, then Batista and Morrison which could have very well won the tournament. Memphis with Derrick Rose probably should have won it, St Joe's with Nelson and West seemed unbeatable, and Cincy with Maxiell was pretty dang good too

Probably should've won it? Holy hell it was insane that they didn't .
