Ohio State Buckeyes Thread

They'll be in, but the prospects for a deep run aren't good at all. Matta is going to have to revamp the offense next season so that it doesn't depend so much on one player scoring 20+ a night. Depending on what's left and what's coming in he might be better suited to a transitional offense, one that runs a lot.

    They're in.

The Big Ten’s perch atop the sport makes these struggles deceptive. Neither OSU nor Michigan have a truly bad loss — or, for that matter, any loss to a team outside the top-30 in the RPI. Five of the Buckeyes’ defeats are against top-10 teams — including No. 1 Indiana, No. 4 Michigan State, and Michigan — while UM’s four losses have come against top-20 teams away from Crisler Arena.

Lunardi has them as a 6? I think I heard just now.

If they lose both games this week, they will be on the bubble. Need to start winning some meaningful games.

He has them as a 5

FWIW Bilas has them a 3/4

If they get to 19 or 20 wins, they are in. If they only win 1 more game, they'll be 9-9 in the conference and 19-11 overall with 9 losses being to ranked tournament teams. It's a shoe-in, the seed could get pretty bad though.

I think the talent is there but is not being properly used right. There's probably a reason why I'm on a computer and Thad Matta make millions, but I would say this team does not fit in a half court concept. IThey're loaded with athletes. Even if teams try to slow it down, find a way to push it up and down the court.

In my opinion, it's time for Shannon Scott to start. He is a true point guard and the ball movement is better when he is in the game. If Conley and Butler started together, why not Scott and Craft?

A lot of us on here have been saying this for a while now, and imo it should be Craft, Scott, Thomas, Thompson and Ravenel. For the record, the only reason I put Ravenel in is because we have to have size in the lineup...McDonald just isn't ready, and Williams sucks.

I can see them winning 3 of the next 5. They did play like hell, but they're not that bad. (They're also not that great, but I think they are much better than they looked over the weekend.)

Sorry but Q is awful right now. Had one good game and now tries to do way way wayyyyy too much.

Horrible minutes from both Q and Rav right there.

    Is Amir in debt?

All 0s is a trillion, is all 0's with nothing other than fouls -?

Osu is best when playing fast. Yet they are walking it up the court and holding it out top a lot. Makes no sense to me.

These officials are garbage both ways. Nickle dimers everywhere. Its the bigten, let them play.
  • Mulva
That escalated quickly. Blowout in the Schott.

    Get up big man
  • Terry_Tate
Literally LOL'd when Rav threw that down. Love it, big man can run.

Didn't get to watch the first half, but from what I've seen so far in the second half Scott has played a really good game. Love seeing him get some good PT.

ADV in the game and making things happen. Dude can straight knock down 3's.

Wonder when the Gophers line up Tubby's buyout in their coffers
  • Laley23
I was just getting ready to ask if Tubby gets the axe at the end of the year?

I don't see how he doesn't, barring some miracle Sweet 16 run. The team has quit on him, again. Collapses seemingly every year.

On the plus side, I will be delusional with thoughts of Shaka Smart - who is from the midwest, and his former AD just took over at Minnesota - taking his place :)

I would love that also. B1G has great coaches currently, but Shaka would be an upgrade over Tubby, imo.

We did exactly what we were supposed to do to a depleated Minnasowdah team.
Can't believe questions on if they are in or not, they are a 5 and a good 5 seed at worst.
De La Valle is a cult guy waiting to happen if I've seen one. And that could be a great thing.

His shot was silky tonight ;). And he goes 110% at all points. I like him.

*Della Valle, and the kid's got a shot from the gods...even S&L likes him! lol
