If you are mad about the 'damage' he caused to the University and that we can't go to bowl game this year...then you should direct that anger toward the NCAA whose arbitrary, inconsistent enforcement of it's 400+ page rule book made this possible. It is not , and hasn't been for a long time, a benevolent institution that represents and advocates for student athletes.

    It wasn't just "one day"

He lied at several different times during the investigation

Where in his post does he say "one day"? If you're going to "quote" someone, then make sure you're "quoting" what they said, not what you think you read. Coach Tressel fucked up, he's paid/still paying for his fuck up, and THE OSU is paying for it now as well. However, we got Urban Meyer as a result, and things are right in Buckeye Nation again. Now, if we can only get rid of Gene Smith....

^^^I don't know if Smith is really a problem...we have to credit him with getting Meyer here as well as debit him for self flagellating the University in the hopes of getting favorable treatment from the NCAA. I think he/we were F***** no matter what he did.

Pretty much everyone outside the OSU circle jerk thinks this was retarded. If this were an SEC school or even Michigan, OSU fans would be having a heyday with this.

BTW, I wasn't going to say anything, but classyposter tore down the classy wall and others followed suit, so fuck it.

Bullshit. Don't believe it for one second.

It was disgusting yesterday the way the lemmings poured their approval down on a guy that could have walked 25 steps down the hallway and turned the tatoo mess over to compliance but he thought he had a NC team and couldn't afford suspensions and lied his ass off. Now a bunch of innocents work their butts off to go 12 - 0 and will never really know if they were the best or not. I refused to stand yesterday during that whole charade and told the people around me they were idiots.

This wasn't about Tressel's actions that led to his dismissal...this was about celebrating one of the great teams in OSU history. Anyone who was there on Saturday (myself) could see that.

Then shame on you. Look at the bigger picture.

Yeah no thanks I'd rather look at it as celebrating the 2002, which Tressel was head coach of.

Anybody who thinks Tressel is a "Bad man" clearly knows nothing about him. To his core he is a quality human being. He messed up, once. He tried to protect his players when he should have just left them on their own. But if you think he was doing it because he cared about W and L you are crazy. He truly cared about the players he recruited. Ask any of his former guys. They know he would have done anything for them because he thought of them as his own sons.

He was a legend. I am glad he was hoisted up. I had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions and he was/is one hell of a guy. If you ask any hospital or charity in Columbus what they think of Jim Tressel, I'd bet they'd agree.

I've met him a few times on campus, and I would have to agree.

What wall? I saw when Urban Meyer was walking out and he was saying where's Brady. Clearly wanted to shake his hand, and I don't know I grew up always knowing to shake hands no matter what after games and there were times I wanted to kick that dudes ass. To me that's a low thing to do

I agree. I should've used the quote feature. Someone posted while I was typing my post. That was intended for Tiernan.

In fact, I wish OSU would've put his name in the ring of honor. That would've been a giant F U to the NCAA.

What an attempt to shake hands.

Brady said the crowd on the field and the fact Urban was already interviewing on TV wasn't allowing it to happen. Urban and Hoke are ok with it. I'm sure they are terribly shaken that you aren't ok with it.

I think in general people get too worked up over post-game handshakes... unless it's between Schwartz and Harbaugh.

.and they have paid their "NCAA dues" as well. ...A one game suspension ...a self reported infraction....for receiving $200 for working a charity event.

Sometimes it takes more guts to stand alone against ignorance.
