JugheadOhio beats the Richmond Spiders 73-48 in an odd game. Richmond led this game at halftime 30-27 and 38-34 with 16 minutes to go in the second half before Ohio ratcheted up their defense and only allowed 10 points the rest of the game. Only 3 players from Richmond scored in this game, something I've never seen on the collegiate level.

HereticOU wins again, beating St. Bonaventure 69-64.
I was keeping track of the game over Yahoo while watching Big 10 challenge games. For small-conference games, Yahoo usually has slow updates (every few minutes) instead of play-by-play. So, this one was stuck at 62-61 StB with 1:18 to play for an eternity on the computer. Nearly had a suspense-related heart attack! -
Pick6Zips beat MTSU in OT today. 3rd OT game so far this season. Sloppy, but pretty quality win. Creighton up next on the 9th.
-
HereticOU's now dropped two in a row, both kind of disturbingly.
1. Simply the fact they lost to an (at the time) 3-4 Bob Morris team.
2. The way they turned a first half lead into a 30-point demolition at the hands of Memphis. A Memphis team that had fallen out of the top 25 and seemed more mediocre than preseason projections. -
JugheadRobert Morris is an enigma. For whatever reason, something flukey always seems to happen to prevent the Bobcats from being able to win.
In 2009-10, an offensive foul is called on a made jumper that wipes the game typing bucket out. RMU wins by 2.
In 2010-11, a lane violation is called with 3 seconds left on a game tying free throw. RMU wins by 3 after 2 free throws on the other end.
In 2011-12, Ohio forces 31 turnovers only to have less defensive rebounds than RMU had offensive boards. RMU wins by 3.
This year, a RMU player shoots 10 of 10 from the field including 8 of 8 from behind the 3 point line. RMU as a team shoots 12 of 18 from behind the line and wins by 8 after the Bobcats reduced a 19 point lead down to 3.
Can't say anything good about the Memphis game. The team appeared to quit playing defense after the first 13 minutes of the game. -
Pick61st pivotal game between the 3 contenders for the MAC today. Akron @ Kent on ESPNU tipping off right now.

Pick6The MAC is all but sealed for Ohio/Akron.
Ziggy Zeke Marshall with a big game tonight.18 /8/9 (blocks) -

Probably not the biggest of surprises, but for me it is nice to see Ohio back on track after playing absolutely horribly during those weeks leading into conference play. I was worried that they'd be struggling along at .500ish or so considering some of the losses they had.Pick6;1373242 wrote:The MAC is all but sealed for Ohio/Akron.

This....although they still don't seem to be able to put it together for an entire game.Heretic;1373746 wrote:Probably not the biggest of surprises, but for me it is nice to see Ohio back on track after playing absolutely horribly during those weeks leading into conference play. But after watching them against Miami they do look like they're playing much better as a team. -
Pick6With VCU losing tonight, the Zips now have the 3rd longest winning streak in the nation. Akron vs OU the 2nd will be huge!

ts1227Can NIU just fold their basketball program now? 4 points in the first half, 13 points at the final media timeout, and then somehow rattled off 12 in the final 4 minutes to get to a whopping 25. Went 1/33 from 3 (and the 33rd and final one was the only one to fsll)
Since they were playing EMU, they were still in it lol. 42-25 EMU was the final -
Pick6EMU and NIU's bball programs should be kicked out of the MAC. Bring in UMASS please. Programs like them kill any chance of the MAC ever being more than a 1 bid league.
-
ts1227The sad part is this is an "up year" for EMU

Classyposter58Last night was going to attend the BG/UT game at Toledo. They were sold out of the upper deck and their ticket prices were 5-8 and 10 bucks up there. All lower bowl were $36 a piece! I told the guy at the window you guys are f***ing crazy and went to the Central Catholic game instead. Just could not believe a MAC school charging that, hell MSU only goes up to $32 a seat and mine were $24 for that game last week. So 24 bucks cheaper for two people to see two top 15 teams in the Big10 in primetime playing than UT vs BG lol
-
Pick6Zips came back from being down 20 to knock off Buffalo last night. Buffalo came out shooting approx 99% the first 15 minutes of the game. Akron now has the second longest winning streak in the nation.
Saw OU beat Kent by 1 last night. Big matchup next Saturday. -
ts1227
Yeah that seems high. OU is pretty much $15 for anything that isn't a season ticket (but there are only 4 sections in the bottom level that are general admission), and they do promos that make them less for some games.Classyposter58;1375581 wrote:Last night was going to attend the BG/UT game at Toledo. Of course OU's average attendance is more than half of the MAC's arena capacities, so they can charge less and still make more money than their rivals. -

Yeah I would say most mid major's and minor league teams are around that $10-15 range. So when you're well over doubling itts1227;1375634 wrote:Yeah that seems high. Yeah, the OU game went to the final buzzer and was decided by Kent missing a close-range shot in the final seconds. When their guy got as deep as he did, I figured the game was going to be a loss, but he somehow missed, so all was good!Pick6;1375596 wrote:Zips came back from being down 20 to knock off Buffalo last night. Pick6Bilas giving Akron some reps this morning.
@jaybilas: Cooper certainly could take me to school. Then, he could open the door for me, drop me off, and I'd drop forty on him. -
Pick6old, I know...

reclegend22Please tell me the date of that photo is October 31.
Even if he's just playing, that's fucking legit weird. -
ts1227Lol it's from his freshman year I think
