I was hoping the white dude would hit that last second shot on the steal

    2OT in Storrs

    Ottomatic.

Can't believe Georgetown pulled that out. They looked cooked in the 2nd OT

I've said it before, but Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright might constitute the most talented backcourt in the country. It's like two Kembas. If everyone returns, the Huskies will be a top ten team in the country preseason next year IMO and one of my favorites to get to the Final Four. I don't like UConn and never have, mainly due to Jim Calhoun, but if they were in the Dance this year and Calhoun were still at the helm, the Huskies would probably get to the national championship game. They didn't get it done tonight, but they have had a knack of pulling out games all season at the end of regulation or in OT. It's a tough team.

    Very glad they are ineligible.

    Arkansas loses at LSU.

Sets them up perfectly to play out of their minds (like Florida) against UK this weekend.

Maryland loses to Georgia Tech. Crushing loss for the Terps. Gotta think they are firmly out of the NCAA's right now.

Wichita State loses at home to Evansville. Maybe the most surprising result of the evening.

Indiana State lost at home to Drake. I don't think they have any chance of an at-large at this point.

"The plays have been reviewed and appropriate measures will be taken by the Coordinator of Men's Basketball Officials to adjust the number of future assignments for the two officials involved in conjunction with Conference policies."
On the side, they apologized to DeLoss Dodds for giving a team not named Texas a favorable result in anything ever.

Is MVC playing itself into a 1 bid league? Lol. Damn...

Creighton and Wichita State are the only teams who can get an at-large. Those two probably make it.
  • Azubuike24
    I don't think so.

I do think if Creighton loses to Wichita on Saturday, and doesn't win one in the MVC Tourney, they are in some trouble.

Wichita beat VCU, Iowa, Southern Miss, Air Force, Creighton, Indiana State, Detroit (possible Horizon winner) and NC Central (possible MEAC winner). They have enough wins.

That sounds about right. WSU is in, imo. Creighton is in some trouble pending some losses though. That league at one point looked like a 3 possibly 4 bid league (with a tourney upset and 2 or 3 at larges). But that was when Indiand St was playing well enough to warrant consideration and WSU and Creighton were "locks"

    Arizona loses to USC.
    Texas beats Oklahoma.

This is just an insane year.

New Mexico as a #1 seed.

This is possibly crazy talk, but if New Mexico wins out, they will win the Mountain West by 3 games (which is the #1 overall conference in RPI) and end up at 30-4.

Wins over Davidson, Connecticut, Indiana State, Mercer, New Mexico State (twice), Cincinnati, UNLV, Boise State (twice), Colorado State (twice), Air Force, San Diego State.

Only losses to St. Louis (NCAA team), South Dakota State (NCAA team if seeds hold in the Summit), UNLV (NCAA team) and San Diego State (NCAA team).

This concludes the worst couple days I have ever encountered gambling on sports. I have a lot of new teams I hate now. Ha. It's true what they say, the only sure thing about luck is that it will change.

And on that depressing note, I am going to bed. Lol.

Those shorts are ugly as hell. I do kind of like that green for the Notre Dame uni's though.

It's funny you said this. I started the same thread on the Rivals college basketball board. It's gotten a lot of discussion.

I personally, think if UNM wins out, they are a #1 seed. They will have a top 3 RPI, top 3 SOS, 30 wins, dual champs in the #1 RPI conference. Not suggesting the Mountain West is the best league, but given the criteria we know the selection committee uses, the Lobos would be even more deserving than a 31-2 Gonzaga team. Everyone has seemed to accept that if the Zags win out, they are a lock for a #1. Bottom line...New Mexico at 30-4 would have a far better resume.

I think Baylor's jerseys are actually pretty cool, considering that's the kind of bright and flashy style their uniforms have been the past couple of years anyhow.

Also, Cincinnati's isn't that bad. The design on the shorts almost -- at least to me -- seems to reflect the sharp claws of a bearcat, whatever the fuck a bearcat is.

The other, more traditional schools I don't like as much, especially UCLA or Kansas. It just doesn't look right.

Penn State would win both the MW and whatever cupcake conference the Zags play in.

Lol the MW is actually a very very good conference this year. A lot of very solid teams compared to years past. Honestly I would put them at probably the 4th or 5th best conference this year
