And when was the last time a mid-major won the title? 1990. And 1966 before that. :p

I mean there is certainly a lot of subjectivity. However, the Mountain West is ranked the #1 conference by the RPI. The selection committee, by their own admission, doesn't generally watch a ton of games or look at the "eye test." They quote numbers, stats, rankings and computer data. By this criteria, New Mexico fits the mold of a #1.

In my opinion, based on the eye test, I don't even know if they are the best team in the Mountain West, let alone the west coast, let alone even a top 15 team. Unfortunately, given the way the field is picked, that opinion (and any opinion like it) is irrelevant.

If I had to give my honest take, I'd probably agree with Sleeper that they are a 3-seed.

    Fair enough lol

Not surprising but Scott Martin's career is officially over at ND. Really feel bad for the guy but his knees are basically shot

Carolina led Clemson 64-47. Now 66-59 with 1 minute to go. Unbelievable.

No surprise, but sounds like X and Butler will join the "catholic 7" in the new big east. Possibly to be joined by Creighton as a 10th.

Carolina missed a million FTs down the stretch, but Clemson is so bad it didn't even matter. Heels get a good road win by a score of 68-59.

The Tar Heels are now 20-8, 10-5 in the ACC. Remaining schedule is FSU, at Maryland, and Duke.

Looks like ND might be part of the catholic league for next year only if they can't make an early move to the ACC

Good start for UVA at home vs the Dookies.

BYU is getting 5.5 at home against Gonzaga.

This is almost a must-win game for the Cougars.

What do people think? The Zags have been crushing opponents. This spread isn't that high and BYU has shown against almost all their quality opponents that they can't hang.

    I'm liking the Zags. Thoughts?

I blame you if they come back and win. lol

Curry with the patented Duke flop on the three-point attempt.

    I would agree.

I took Oregon -10 and Gonzaga -5.5. Wish I would've gotten home from the gym before 9...I was going to take UVA.

Coach K told multiple times by the official to get back into the box, he doesn't. Ref walks away.
  • wildcats20
K was literally screaming at the officials. Not yelling, screaming.

And then he ripped Ayers' ass the ENTIRE timeout. lol

I guarantee that if K threw a chair, a la the General, nothing would happen. He wouldn't even get a warning.

You're hate causes you to be irrational.

    Just enjoy the Virginia win.

Coach K did MORE than deserve a T for that sequence. And I honestly think he might have been trying to get one, they just wouldn't do it.

No here. I have no clue how he didnt get T'd up. Im guessing cause a lot was during a TO and the ref knew it wasnt on TV. But that was bad. The tone alone couldve been enough, regardless of what he said (which, lets assume was not pleasant lol).

And the berating during the TO wasn't even the worst of it.

The result of this game all but guarantees that Duke will throttle Miami in Cameron. No way do they lose this game and then turn around and lose a big game at home.
  • ironman02
Nevermind. UVA is just gonna blow this game right now. Wow.
  • Laley23
Good thing Joe Harris wants to win, cause the rest of UVA doesnt lol.

Bit of sarcasm..but jesus; missed dunk, dribble out of bounds on a break-away, and I think I say 2 or 3 passes go directly out of bounds.
