The way he jumped in front of the camera during the Battle 4 Atlantis while Rick Pitino was being interviewed and started making goofy faces was very weird. Definitely a developmental problem going on there.
It feels good saying that. I've had that on my mind for awhile.
I hate Peyton Siva with a passion. Him and his damn Dad. Would love for Ohio State to end their season and Aaron Craft make him look like a fool with his defense. -

I would wear an Aaron Craft #1 foam finger for that game. I am with you. Siva is a fucking weird dude. I hate the sight of him, to be completely honest.Terry_Tate;1372407 wrote:I hate Peyton Siva with a passion. Him and his damn Dad. Azubuike24They said Nerlens Noel was as good defensively as Anthony Davis...I didn't buy it, but damn...he's close. The instincts...
-
Laley23He might be more athletic and have the ability to recover more. Instincts are tremendous, but not as good as Davis. He was other worldly. Noel get out of position more than Davis did.
-
Azubuike24I don't think so. Noel doesn't have Kidd-Gilchrist, Darius Miller and Terrence Jones (and even Marquis Teague) out-lengthing their men. If anything, he's more aggressive than Davis, because he has to be.
I hate to admit it for now, but there isn't anyone playing worse as a "lottery pick" than Archie Goodwin.... -
Laley23That might be it. I guess it just seems like he leaves his feet more or leaves his man too early to help weakside compared to Davis. But as you said, Davis had better defense out top. I also dont watch nearly as much UK as you, so thats just an outsiders opinion.
-
Azubuike24Hard to compare guys year to year on different teams, but Jones was a heck of a defender at the 4, MKG is probably going to be a double-figure all-NBA defender and both Miller at 6'8 and Teague at 6'2 were usually length-wise, better than the others. I think this definitely helped Davis.
Wiltjer and Mays are both below-average defensive players and quite honestly, Poythress and Goodwin are lazy players, albeit I think capable of being very good defenders.
In other news, UK slips to 3-2 in conference and it's becoming quite clear, IMO, that Noel = legit, Poythress and Goodwin have their heads in the clouds. Wiltjer, Mays and Harrow have held their own lately...
Doesn't get easier for UK with another Super Tuesday game next week at Ole Miss... -
Laley23Didnt realize how bad UKs resume is/was. They have some work to do to make the NCAAs. I think they will, but 0-6 vs teams ranked in the top 65 of the RPI?!?!?!?
-
Azubuike24Yep, every legit team outside of Maryland, they have lost to. Not only that, but they looked disinterested particularily in the Baylor and Notre Dame game. They battled like a top 10 team against Louisville and Duke, no fault on those. I'll give them a reprieve at Bama, who is a pretty good team that is probably as good or slightly better than UK. The A&M game was just bad.
Cal is great, but to quote Julius Mays after the game tonight, "guys have to stop doing their own thing." I think that's a Senior trying to send a message, but it's crystal clear he's referring to Archie Goodwin. I think this is the stuff you can't always evaluate...Goodwin and Poythress are both averaging around 15 PPG yet 95% of the fan base would say their attitude, demeanor and overall progression has been awful.
Harrow, Wiltjer and Noel are getting better game by game... -
Terry_TateKentucky if they end up with 11 or 12 losses will be a nightmare double digit seed. Already scared to death of a 5-12 matchup between them and Ohio State.
-
Azubuike24One bracketology had UNC vs UK in Dayton for a play-in game, haha. UNC is probably back on the 9-10 range, but it's not too far off...
How crazy would that be? -

Insane. -

Another idea...The Yum Center has RD1/2. Imagine 5) OSU vs 12) UK on Friday in Louisville? I wouldn't put it past the committee with the whole "pod" BS. Both schools would be "close to home"...Terry_Tate;1372451 wrote:Kentucky if they end up with 11 or 12 losses will be a nightmare double digit seed. Laley23Id probably go. lol
-
Azubuike24It would be a nightmare getting tickets. Could probably get to the Final Four for less...
-
Azubuike24Interesting thought to ponder. Has there ever been a basketball season where Kentucky and North Carolina failed to make the NCAA Tournament and the Lakers and Celtics failed to make the playoffs?
-
Terry_TateI would be beyond pissed if that happened. Hopefully UK gets some wins and we can see 8) UC vs 9) UK. Now that I would take, haha.

Top 5 most nervous moments of the last 20 years as a UK fan was the 2005 NCAA game at the RCA Dome against UC. That was a dogfight, one of the more intense 3/6 games I've seen in a long. One of Rajon Rondo's top 3 college games ever.Terry_Tate;1372466 wrote:I would be beyond pissed if that happened. Hopefully UK gets some wins and we can see 8) UC vs 9) UK. Very fun game to watch as a neutral party. Have a ton of friends on both sides so I enjoyed that one. Would love to see it again. -
GOONx19I honestly don't have Kentucky making the tournament. It kills me.

SportsAndLadyKansas takes down #11 Kansas State, in Manhatten. I know this is pretty irrelevant at this time, but it's hilarious to me how KU isn't even sniffing #1 in the country. If Duke, UNC, UK, etc. were winning 16 in a row, do you think there'd even be a chance of one of them not getting the #1 spot?
Only loss came to the #13 team in the country on a neutral court back in November.
If they beat 13-4 Oklahoma this Saturday, they better leapfrog Duke and Michigan in Monday's polls. Imo, they're starting to show they are the most elite team in the country. -

I see what you're saying but unfortunately the strength (or lack thereof) of the Big XII is hurting them. They're the only Big XII team in the top RPI top 25 and are expected to win every time out. If they keep winning they'll move up in the polls because Duke and Michigan are likely to lose at some point, but I don't fault pollsters for placing KU below them at this time.SportsAndLady;1372553 wrote:Kansas takes down #11 Kansas State, in Manhatten. The SoS isn't good, agree there. And the Big 12 is pretty down this year, however, they haven't even gotten into the Big 12 schedule, so not sure that can really be an excuse at this point. They've only played 5 Big 12 games so far, and 3 of those 5 teams should be in the NCAA tourney this year. Not to mention the only other team that is sniffing the top 25, they just beat on the road.gorocks99;1372557 wrote:I see what you're saying but unfortunately the strength (or lack thereof) of the Big XII is hurting them. All I'm saying, is they have the same record as all the other top teams...and they've won 16 in a row with 2 wins on the road against top 20 teams. Not sure what else you would look for in the #1 team in the country. I mean Duke JUST lost 2 games ago! How are they #1? Michigan, again, lost 2 games ago. Yet KU just keeps on winning and is just slowing moving into that top 3. Meh lol -

The way I look at it, Duke has beaten (RPI) #7 (neutral), #12 (neutral), and #25 (home) and has one loss to #16 (road). Their next game is against the current #4 RPI team (Miami), and they have three games left against the current RPI top 25.SportsAndLady;1372565 wrote:The SoS isn't good, agree there. Michigan has beaten #7 (away) and #16 (home), has a loss to #25 (road), and has four games left against current RPI top 25.
Kansas has beaten #22 (home), #25 (away), and has a loss to #14 (neutral), and has no games left against current RPI top 25.
Basically I think it's the strength of Duke and Michigan's wins that are holding them up right now (as opposed to the weakness of their losses holding them back) - and unfortunately Kansas isn't getting the same opportunities. Fortunately for KU I think they will end up #1 in the polls at some point because they have the best chance to just keep winning out of the top 3. -

1) I don't think how many 'tough' games they have remaining should be included in the argument of who should be #1 right now.gorocks99;1372576 wrote:The way I look at it, Duke has beaten (RPI) #7 (neutral), #12 (neutral), and #25 (home) and has one loss to #16 (road). 2) Both teams have equal victories, imo. Duke has one more top 25 win..but NC State will not be #16 anymore after a loss last night. That was not a good loss. Michigan lost at Ohio State, Kansas won that game going away.
There's no way you can make an argument that UM and Duke are ahead of KU in the standings right now. Especially considering KU hasn't lost since the 2nd game of the season.
