Sparty Claiming Bucks Doctored Game Tape

  • Tiernan
The Detroit Free Press (fish wrap at best) is saying the MSU coaching staff is claiming OSU sent doctored game tape to them last week deleting key shift and formation segments. Urbie is more or less saying its complete BS.

Sounds alot like sour grapes for losing to me. I always liked Dantonio and kinda surprised he would whine like this whether its true or not.

Old news, but it boggles my mind that they still trade gametape.

If Urbie is saying that, then someone is lying. MSU had already obtained new tapes that did show everything. And compared to the tapes distributed to other teams, they were doctored.

I'm with se-alum though. With all the media available, why do they even need to do this? I guess it just makes it fair and consistent across the board to require it.

This has already been resolved through the ADs.

LOL. Contact BTN and get game films. What a joke.
  • bigkahuna
    And if they did?

Other than being shady, is there any kind of penalty for this?

Or just DVR them to begin with...all of their games were broadcast anyway.

Game film is a lot different..but I get your point

Has anyone come down on MSU for the "just the wind knocked out of him" thing?

Is there any actual rule to be broken? Does he have an official concussion now?

There are slightly different camera angles in coaches film compared to what you'd see on dvr.

MSU shouldn't have talked about it to the media if they had a complaint filed with the B1G, but if they sent full game films to osu and expected the same in return since that's what they've always done, there is no problem with them filing the complaint. Its not like the B1G is going to change the outcome of the game or anything.

They never filed a complaint, the ADs settled it.

Michigan State filed a complaint to the Big Ten Conference saying Ohio State cut off pre-snap motions and shifts before plays on film of its previous four games, reports the Detroit Free Press.

??? That is in reference to the article i posted, lol

From what I understood, they filed a complaint but were able to resolve it without the B1G's involvement.

    Yes.

From what I gather, the AD's settled this. Amirite?

But only after it was reported.

I heard MSU was like, WTF Urb, why you doctor the tape.

Urb was like, Gene Smith, get off your lazy ass and go deal with this.

AD's talked, cried, had make up sex. All was settled.

    OSU won game.

    This.
  • bases_loaded
How else would they get the entire 11 view of every play?
  • Fly4Fun
It's for the coaches tape which is different than what the TV audience sees.

Anyways, not sure why this is a story after the fact other than someone trying to make an excuse for why Sparty lost.

I'm hoping this doesn't start a trend of trying to make Urbie look bad.
