The MAC is beginning to own the Big 10

Diet CokeBig 10 schools better quit scheduling MAC teams next year.....seems like the MAC is ready to become the kingpins of the midwest....
I guess the Big 10 should start scheduling Div.III schools like Marietta in order to stop looking silly.....
Man, is the BIG 10 really down this year.... -

believerUmmmmmmm......the MAC has had a respectable showing against the B1G this season but "kingpins of the midwest" is a stretch. lol

jordo212000Poor attempt at trolling here.

ts1227There's no denying that the bottom half of the B1G and upper half of the MAC overlap like never before this year, but let's not get too carried away here.

Problem is, a Mac win over a B1G team used to be rare. Now 9-3 is ok.Azubuike24;1277843 wrote:The B1G is 9-3 against the MAC this year...fact. I hate the B1G too... -

It used to be 12+-0 or 10-2 with L's from Minnesota, Northwestern, or Indiana. Now, Iowa has a loss against them and Michigan State almost did as well. -
0311sdpThe MAC traditionally has some pretty good QBs that the B1G has missed on, this year looks like more of the same. (this and the really poor defense being played in the B1G this season) I agree with an earlier post about the bottom of the B1G and the top of the MAC, not much difference this year. But as Lou Holtz always says, the MAC has 85 scholarships just like everyone else. The days of just showing up being good enough against the MAC may be over.

ksig489Can't count OU against PSU...Penn State barely even has a team.
No one can get hit by graduation/leaving early/transfers the way they did and have expectations to still be a "major conference" team. They belong in the Sun Belt this season. -

And could easily be 4-0. They have played a ton better the last 2 games. O'brian is doing a pretty good job with what he has to work with. I like what he has done with mcgloin -

ConferenceOfTheDay: #MAC. #CMU beat Iowa, #WMU beat UConn,#NIU beat Kansas, #BallState beat #USF & #Akron/#EMU gave Tenn/MichSt wild fits -
Azubuike24Touting 21-point loss to a Tennessee team that likely goes 3-5 at best in their own conference. Nice.

The game was within a score through 3 1/2 quarters. And it was impressive for a team that hasnt beaten a division 1 opponent since 2010. Lets not forget Tennessee was ranked last week as well.Azubuike24;1279642 wrote:Touting 21-point loss to a Tennessee team that likely goes 3-5 at best in their own conference. Nice.
Also, not like a homer like me was touting it or anything. Gameday was. -

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. -

Honestly it is a very good move on Ohio states part. Especially with the new playoff. Ohio st still could get in the playoff with 1 loss instead of having to go undefeated because of the strength of schedule. -

anybody can still get in with one loss imo. If you can get into the national championship with one loss, surely you can make top 4Crimson streak;1281680 wrote:Honestly it is a very good move on Ohio states part. But by playing a bunch of shit teams in the beginning of the year hurts your chances big time over another 1 loss team that has a better schedule. -

I liked playing one MAC in state school a year. I think it's good for PR, keeping the money is state, and just good for Ohio football in general. There's a lot of Ohio kids on these Ohio MAC schools, and I like the idea of letting them have the chance of playing a game in the 'Shoe, 'cause I have to believe this is most Ohio kids' dream. cats gone wildIve heard it for years about keeping money in state. Why? Does it help us out who live in Ohio? Do we see a dime of it? Do students get a discount in the future? I can care less where colleges give their money to.
