You seem to know a lot about perverts...Big Gain;1246249 wrote:Undoubtedly Sandusky shared his boys with other boosters. That is never a one time deal, men with perversion LOVE to share, LOVE to tell of their escapades, LOVE to share secrets, LOVE to have pictures or tapes, LOVE to share those..... -

Tressels' coverup did not provide improper benefits, so with your argument, they had no grounds to punish.HitsRus;1246373 wrote:That's a really good question. Another example of over the top NCAA action. The NCAA at least had grounds(improper benefits) a definite violation of clearly written rules. Still the sanctions were excesive considering the amount of such amounted to pocket change. -

I think that is in an inaccurate way of portraying the feelings of the President and the trustees....it appears that they were coerced into accepting the sanctions lest they lose the football program entirely.gosh the president of the university accepts the sanctions, the large majority of the trustees accept the sanctions. they realize their institution is responsible for covering up these horrendous crimes -
isadoregosh lets see, there is an enormous scandal involving despicable crimes involving the leaders of the university, athletic department and football programs. The university trustees have a thorough investigation done by an independent group of legal and law enforcement professionals lead by a former director of the FBI. The investigation shows an enormous coverup by the above listed leaders. The trustees and new president accept the findings of the investigation. The ncaa uses the university's own investigtion as the basis for determining instituional punishment for the obvious failure of psu. When the university's new president and trustess receives it very lenient slap on the wrist, they readily accept it

Because it gave the players a competitive advantage by not having to sit out multiple games for rules violations.WebFire;1246334 wrote:So why did all the innocent people and the community at OSU have to suffer for Tressel's cover up? It was just the action of one man. -

The team was punished separately for that. The cover up was treated as a different case.sleeper;1246483 wrote:Because it gave the players a competitive advantage by not having to sit out multiple games for rules violations. -

It is my opinion that PSU had a recruiting advantage by not reporting the wrongdoings of Sandusky.sleeper;1246483 wrote:Because it gave the players a competitive advantage by not having to sit out multiple games for rules violations. -

And, back to my original question, it is still the action of 1 man. Why should everyone else suffer?sleeper;1246483 wrote:Because it gave the players a competitive advantage by not having to sit out multiple games for rules violations. -

Is Ohio State suffering? News to me, we got the best coach in the game and one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. If anyone's suffering, it's Michigan. Enjoy 7 straight losses.WebFire;1246504 wrote:And, back to my original question, it is still the action of 1 man. Why should everyone else suffer? -

As evidenced by all their recruits leaving because of the rapes :rolleyes:WebFire;1246501 wrote:It is my opinion that PSU had a recruiting advantage by not reporting the wrongdoings of Sandusky. -

Tressel violated a reporting agreement/rule.Tressels' coverup did not provide improper benefits, so with your argument, they had no grounds to punish -

How many wanted out before the sanctions were put in place?? -

WebFireUm, why would they want out about something they didn't know about?

Right. So it goes beyond a direct improper benefit. Which is what you (or sleeper, I don't remember which) was using as an argument.HitsRus;1246568 wrote:Tressel violated a reporting agreement/rule. -

I see. So that 6-7 season didn't happen. And neither is this year's post season ban.sleeper;1246524 wrote:Is Ohio State suffering? News to me, we got the best coach in the game and one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. If anyone's suffering, it's Michigan. Enjoy 7 straight losses. -

6-7 happens when you play in the best conference in the country and you lose the vast majority of your upperclassman and have to play with a green QB all season long. The bowl ban doesn't bother me, we will beat Michigan and you can take that to the bank.WebFire;1246700 wrote:I see. So that 6-7 season didn't happen. And neither is this year's post season ban. -

se-alumHeard today that another charge may be pending against Sandusky. Uncovered during an investigation by the USPS, that he may have molested kids on a private plane owned by a donor to his charity. Also, PSU has been put on alert by one of the Accreditation bodies.
