Seriously? That's freaking awesome. I'll probably be at Ohio State but if not it will be football at my house from sun up to sun down. What a great way to start the year.

CBS Sports Network, make sure you have it before you plan your party.

Really? I would have assumed it would be CBS.

I dunno now, it was announced on CBS sports but now Verne and Gary Danielson are on the call so that might mean big CBS.

    Brian Hardin ‏@NDHardin

Over 33,000 fans will travel to Ireland for #NotreDame game, largest contingent of fans to ever travel to single sport event outside of U.S.

It's big CBS from everything I've seen. Even ND's official site has the channel listed as CBS. Pretty sure it would say "CBS Sports Network" if that is what it is going to be on.

DirecTV here so I have it. I don't think it's going to matter though as it should be on regular ass CBS.

yeah my bad, it was originally said to be on the other channel and I hadn't seen anything until today saying otherwise.

Whoa... Really? Since when? Is that new?
  • Midstate01
3am here... No thanks. Unless they are showing it on one of the ships or something. Then I'd watch.

Where are you at that it's on at 3 am?

Yep...CBS Sports network. It's Navy's "home" game. Their TV deal.

Looks like regular CBS to me. Also, the ND-Navy games that have been considered Navy's home games in the past have been on CBS, not CBS Sports Network.

Navy's deal is technically through the CBS company. Obviously there going to put it on regular CBS because it will get the highest ratings

Your are right. The contract is with the parent company.

When the schedule was initially announce and the tv schedule was included it was listed as being on their sports network.

Yep, that's why it's a CBS game as opposed to an NBC game.

Obviously. None of ND's road true road games are televised on NBC. Only home games and neutral site games that are designated as home games. Been that way for over 20 years now.

I suppose the only way casual football fans watch this is if it's played in another country, like Ireland.

These two teams may have made good TV 20-30 years ago but not anymore.
  • holy_buckeye
9:00 start before the real teams play at noon. Pretty accurate as both these squads resemble JV teams who will be playing at th same time.
