Won't be watching. I'd be shocked if uk doesn't win by 15+ though

This game has a TON of story lines. Epic story lines.

Rematch of a game already played this year, on a neutral floor yet again.
The two NPOY Finalists going head to head for a title.
Bill Self vs John Calipari, part two.
The 2 winningest programs of all-time.

When is the last time there were this many intriguing story lines that connect both teams heading into a title game?

Hoping for Kansas just because Calipari's a sleazeball, but don't see it happening.

Reminds me a lot of the '93 Final Four with UM vs UNC. Nobody thought a stacked Michigan team would lose yet NC eeked out a tough one. I'm going with the Jayhawks to win it all

Everyone was predicted similar scores with Louisville yet it wound up being a close game and an 8 point win

For KU to win, they certainly can't play a half like they did the 1st half against OSU. They also can't turn the ball over as they did vs OSU. UK lives off of runs in a game. IF KU can make it a grind it out half court game, limit their turnovers, they certainly have a chance. With Robinson and Withey, KU has size in the middle to matchup and cause problems around the rim, similar to what UK does.
Taylor has to play a great game though. He wasn't great vs OSU. He will have to be so much better against UK. The margin of error is small. But if UL can hang around UK, KU certainly can.

I didn't. I predicted it would be close bc the way Louisville plays. While Kansas wants to run which is just plain stupid to do against Kentucky. This game won't be close. I was hoping Ohio st would win it would have been a lot better game.

I actually like the matchups for Kansas..UK is obviously more talented, but I think Kansas will take this.

    Taylor vs Teague...KU
Johnson vs Lamb..KU (I think Lamb's the better player, but Johnson is playing so well right now)
Releford vs MKG..UK (and that is a huge advantage. I think this is the X factor matchup in this game)
    Robinson vs Jones..KU
Withey vs Davis..UK (I don't think this is that big of an advantage for UK. Withey/Robinson/Young all have the length to at least disrupt Davis a little bit. He'll still get his 15 and 10, but I don't think he'll have a monster game)

Where are you guys getting this "Kansas wants to run" bullshit?

Did you just now watch your first Kansas game vs UNC and think that's how they play all the time? lol In '08, they ran against UNC, and slowed it down against a more talented Memphis team. They don't have one particular style, they play to the matchups.

Their half court didn't look that good to me, they only made a run when they got in transition to start the second half, guess that's where people get it from.

I think KU is selective when they run. Which is a good thing to obviously do. Last nite vs OSU, they turned it over way too much on some of those. But you can't change what you have been doing all season long at this point. But KU overall, can play half court. Which is why Robinson has done as well as he has this year.

And much of that was because OSU was taking quick, poor shots to start the second half. Again, credit KU for taking advantage of that. Its exactly what a good team does when they force the other team into a quick shot, or turnover.

Agree about the poor shot selection, OSU went into panic mode early second half as I stated on the other thread, just thought KU looked vulnerable in half as we were able to turn them quite a bit.

They can definitely play half court ball..they have a great inside-out offense, which includes the potential NPOY and a 7 footer. They just struggle to hit the outside shots in their half court offense. So if Robinson and Withey aren't doing work, they could be in trouble.

I don't disagree. But you don't make it this far, win 30+ games without being able to play a half court game. OSU played very good defense in first half. Controlled tempo, ran offense, hit shots. KU cranked things up in second half, and OSU let foot off peddle. OSU didn't respond.
I mean, I think UK will win this game. But if KU plays well, they definately have a shot in this game. Stranger things have happened.

The matchup earlier this year was actually pretty close until the end of the 2nd half. It was a really good game at the Garden. That was back when KU wasn't playing too hot, too. Obviously UK has improved immensely as well. But the matchups are there for KU, just gotta play well, and this will be a great game.

I'd love to see the upset, but IMO, the pressure's off Kentucky with their win vs. Louisville, and this won't be close....'Cats by 9

The game at the Garden earlier this year was absolutely BLAH. Neither team played good. UK won because they had more talent, but neither played well at all.

Yeah, I agree..which is what I think KU needs to do again lol make this a "blah" game, stay in it til the end (like they've done the whole tourney), and win it at the end.
  • Crimson streak
I also like the Teague over Taylor match up. Taylor can't hit an outside shot this tourney to save his life. While Teague has been playing extremely well the last few games and has been shooting very well. Kansas has to keep jones and mkg off the offensive boards.
