Inconsistent officiating in the second half...not blaming the loss on the refs but it did seem they were a little more whistle happy when Robinson got the ball for KU than whenever an OSU player took it inside...just like how Buford didnt get fouled shooting from the block or Thomas getting punched in the face wasnt a foul. OSU blew it themselves too by playing terrible offense in the 2nd half. Looked like they had no clue what to do and were forcing way too many 3's.

    Lol this is retarded

I don't think KU is less talented...Robinson is the #2 overall pick, Taylor is a first rounder, after next year Withey and Johnson will be 1st rounders. Kevin Young is gonna be a stud.

OSU probably has the more talented college roster, if that makes sense? Kansas has more NBA prospects though.

I know he has never been an explosive athlete but he has really struggled to elevate most of this year. I have never seen him get his shot blocked so much as I did the last few months, he is very crafty in getting his looks. I hope he comes back in even better shape with something to prove next year. If Thomas and him come back we are looking at another final 4 possibility.
    Come on..lol

He's not hurt, he's just not a dominant player. Still really good though.

Kansas won't try and run w/ Kansas. Bill Self isn't dumb, he'll slow it down...this team has the ability to run (UNC) or slow it down (OSU). They're incredible at changing their style of play overnight for matchups.

This was a fun one to watch for me, but tonight kind of sucked. I am on antiobiotics so I wasn't even able to drink for this. Weird to watch weekend basketball sober, let alone Final Four when your team is in it.

Was a fun game..shouldn't be so hard on the Bucks, Final Fours don't come by too often.

    On to Kentucky!!

Not saying Matta is on the hot seat, but he was terribly outcoached by Self. Giving up a 13pt lead in the 2nd half of a National Semifinal is unacceptable.
  • GoJPM!
The last two points of the second half were a momentum changer. Kansas got it and OSU lost it and, quite frankly, never got it back. OSU should have had at least an eleven point lead going into the locker room but they didn't. I think that deflated them some knowing they had only a single digit lead at the half. They looked flat coming out and played like garbage almost the entire second half. Kansas showed a lot more swagger than OSU and looked like they wanted it more.

Not as bad as former OSU coach Gary Williams.

OK, even having the thought of Matta on the hot seat running through your head is simply asinine.

I really had no idea that the foul line is a plane on foul shots. I thought it was when your foot touched the ground beyond the line. Learnt something new today.

I glad we got him because we went from a Wisconsin type program where we would be 'good' and compete for Big Ten titles to almost a National power. I just think he plays way too slow with his players. Can you imagine what Izzo fast paste offense could do with the talents of an Ohio State? Only 2 fast break points tonight with the athletes we got?

Sullinger shot his worst FG pct. of the season tonight.

Doesn't the shooter's hand cross the "plane" almost every time?

yeah. taking a bunch of fade-away jumpers as a big man that doesn't possess a sweet stroke will probably contribute to that.

Matta's strength is his recruiting, not his game coaching. He has brought in players that have put OSU in the hunt as national contenders a few times.

Some takes. Haven't read this thread so I apologize if this is a repeat.

Aaron Craft had a BAD game. He hit a few shots, but in the 2nd half he hurt OSU. For the 8-minute stretch that Thomas was out, Craft took 2 shots. One of them he made, a 3-pointer in the corner. He really was unable to get the Bucks into any rhythm. First possession with Thomas back on the floor, what does Craft do? Instead of finding either Thomas or Buford, he tries to go from the top of the key and drive it all the way in. Why the aggression at that time, especially with Withey, Young AND Robinson all in the game at the time?

Deshaun Thomas is one of those guys you just live with. He jacked up TWO three-pointers in the 2nd to last possession, neither were balanced, neither had a chance, and OSU only needed a 3 to tie and they had plenty of time to settle for a quality shot. While some will blame his foul trouble, he was not hitting at all after the first 12 minutes or so, meaning there was no reason to believe that even if he played many of the minutes he sat, they would have had anything other than a black hole on offense.

For as much as I admire his game, William Buford lacks the "it" factor. There is a reason he's a 4th year player. He's got good athleticism, not great. He's a great shooter off the dribble and a good shooter on the catch, but he's not able to get to the rim enough. What I never understand watching him is why doesn't he be more aggressive, especially with Thomas out? I said it at the 18-minute mark when Thomas got his 3rd foul that Buford needs to take 10+ shots in this half if OSU wants to win. I think he took 5 after that point.

I thought Sullinger was extremely lazy in fighting for position inside. The reason he stunk was because he either settled for outside shots or he simply caught the ball too far out. Again, he lost trunk and lost his effectiveness. That's likely the down fall of OSU's season, and unfortunately for Jared, his stock is so low right now that he may find himself out of the lottery...so the body transformation didn't help his NBA stock. Wouldn't be surprised if Thomas bolts and Sully returns to OSU...

What pissed me off so much about the game was how much CBS was on Kansas today. I mean wtf. All they showed were closeups of Bill Self, the Kansas students and band, and then highlights and stats of the Jayhawks. I mean it was unreal how little comparatively they mentioned OSU

They actually had to institute that rule cause guys were taking a step up and jumping toward the basket on fts back in the day. It's not to be called if the natural shooting motion takes your chest slightly forward however. But no question craft violated the rule.

That's what I thought but man they showed very little of OSU. Watch the replay and you'll notice. Heck it was hard not to IMO
