NCAA Tournament: Regional Final Random Chatter

Hey Kevin Harlan, shooting a 3 in a 3 point game isn't "for the lead!".

UK-Louisville. Awesome storyline. Probable UK beatdown.
  • hoops23
Apparently Florida was given a 4 point shot in the final seconds.

Could we see Cal vs. Pitino in the national semifinal again? Shades of 1996....

Hopefully Boeheim and Syracuse could complete that old school snap shot.

Well, even if they did, all he could do is pass out water. He's a senior.

It'd be cool to see that. One of the first crystal clear memories I have of the '90s is that Syracuse-Kentucky national championship game. I can vividly remember going out and shooting in my driveway at half-time, pretending to be in that game.

The Final Four is going to pretty legit.

Which team were you pretending to be on? LOL

My memories of it....so excited to watch my fave team play for it all. That Kentucky team was fucking loaded. Ron Mercer was a fuckin' freshman. Tony Delk, Walter McCarty, Antoine Walker and a few other college studs whose names are escaping me right now. Syracuse played 'em pretty tough but Wallace fouled out and that was it. Tony Delk drilling a 3 from the corner while being fouled by Todd Burgan and then completing the 4-point play sticks out in my mind as well.

I was crushed after that loss. 7 years later...it didn't hurt as bad as it used to.

My guy at that time was Chris Collins so I was probably pretending that he was traded to Syracuse. Lol.

But, you're right, that Kentucky team was sick. 'Toine was the best of them all, IMO, and should have had a Hall-of-Fame career. Alas, he's now playing small forward for the Idaho Stampede. Weird how things work out.

I believe it was April 1st. It snowed that morning, an umpire died at Riverfront Stadium, and the Reds Opening Day was canceled. I figured what next. Are my favorite Wildcats going to lose to Syracuse.

Damn. (Although, in the mid-90s, wouldn't a cancelled Reds' game actually have been auspicious? ;))

True. I could have cared less about that game. All I was worried about what else could go wrong. I was honestly scared the The Cuse was going to upset my Cats the way the day was going. Plus it was April Fools Day after all.

It was April 1st. I remember thinking after the game that I was a fool for thinking my Orangemen could beat that Kentucky team.

Florida really must have choked that one away. They were in control when I left and when i got home they lost. Louisville is playing their best ball at the right time, but I think UK will slaughter them in New Orleans. Out of the Elite 8, really the only team left that I didn't think was one of the 8 best teams going in is Louisville, and that is because Michigan State shit the bed.

The UK/Cuse game was the 1st NCAA bball game I can remember seeing. Tony Delk was raining. Got me hooked on college hoops. Just in time too, because the 97 tourney was still the best I can ever remember.
  • centralbucksfan
UK vs Baylor, Cal vs Drew. Bit ironic that maybe two biggest cheats in game are meeting in elite 8. ;)

    Bullshit you fuckin refs
  • Crimson streak
    What a bullshit call
  • wes_mantooth
That is absolutely the worst flagrant foul call ever. He got mostly ball....fuck the NCAA and their garbage officiating.
  • SportsAndLady
    Yeah terrible F1 call there
  • Ironman92
How do you review that ND still call it?
  • Ironman92
Some serious athletes out there. Acy is one scary dude.
  • dazedconfused
did anthony davis leave his brain in the locker room?
  • Crimson streak
This Baylor team matches up very well with Kentucky. There about 1 of 3 teams I think can beat Kentucky.
  • Ironman92
This Baylor team might be the toughest matchup for UK..they have about everything and the "it" factor
