Ohio State vs. Cincinnati (Thursday 9:45)

Y-Town SteelhoundI would love to see some more Amir Williams in this game. His size and length would give Gates all kinds of problems on defense. It's no coincidence that things started to turn around for OSU against Gonzaga when he got into the game.

0311sdpIt's a game Ohio State should win, but Cincy will probably want it more and make it go right down to the wire where anything can happen. Williams length could affect Gates but I doubt that he can move his feet quick enough to stay in front of him (but he is a better option than Ravenel who Gates would eat up) Thomas should have a good game and this might be a game where Thompson fits in better. It will come down to Ohio State's ability to hit some jump shots. I think Sullinger will get Gates in early foul trouble because Gates tries to block to many shots. Craft will probably have to score like he did against Gonzaga because you can't count on Buford. If Smith Jr. makes only 1 shot like last game OSU could be in trouble. I think OSU 68 Cincy 64

Cinci is really at there best when they run there offense through gates but he can get lazy at times and doesn't demand the ball. Once again the key will be Buford. He needs to step up and be the senior leader and take over the game like he's capable of. I expect a game in the 50's low 60's.
I'm sorry but its THEIR both times in your post and not there. Hate to be picky. -

LOL ya ok on the Gates. Give me a break. People are talking about Gates like he is all that. Huge underachiever thus far in his career. A thug on top of that. Sullinger will do just fine. Not sure there have been MANY who have abused him. In case you forgot, he is an all american. You don't get there being abused. lolCleveland Buck;1120978 wrote:Gates will abuse Sullinger, but they don't really have an answer for Thomas, so the frontcourt is a wash. It will come down to guard play. If Buford mails it in again then forget about it. -

Physical game? Its the NCAA. Not big ten. Unfortunately, they are calling everything. Believe me, Friday was a LONG day in Nationwide. First game Sunday, I had to sit through the Ted Valentine show!Laley23;1120985 wrote:Should be an interesting game. If it becomes physical, every possession counts type game..advantage Cincy. If it is a tighter called, finesse game that gets up and down a bit...advantage OSU. -

Personally, I hope UC does come out like that. I am sure UC will have a chip on their shoulders. But its a LONG game. Good teams pace themselves, control their emotions. Often teams come out jacked up, and blow their wad too quickly. I think OSU will be fine. They have the experience, they have been tested playing in Big Ten. They didn't crack against Gonzaga after losing a 10pt lead. I was pleased to see them win that game making plays down the stretch. Showed some toughness. It should be a great game. All things equal, OSU is the better team man for man. At this point, you gotta play well to advance.Terry_Tate;1120994 wrote:I agree with this.
What scares me most about this is that I think Cincinnati will come out guns a blazing being jacked up to play Ohio State and OSU will come out like its another game. I want Ohio State to come out like when they played Michigan in the B1G tournament when you could tell they wanted to pound them into the ground. Ohio State plays with fire the whole game and there's no way they lose, but ill bet they're down early. -

vball10setCinci will come out all jacked up and get a 6-8 point lead, think that they've got the game won, and end up losing by 12

12pts and 9 rebounds per game? Thats dominant? LMAO FU on the homer. I watch games. I am not saying he is bad. Dominant? That would be guys like Davis, Thomas, and Sullinger. All Americans. Gates is inconsistant, shows up when he chooses to show up. Which I am sure he will against OSU. But lets not go overboard here.DeyDurkie5;1121372 wrote:smh. you truly are the definition of a homer...Gates has been dominate this year
Last nite, pretty much a non factor. 10pts, 5 rebounds.
Hey, maybe he does have a dominant game. Anything can happen. He has potential, no question. But I'll take consistancy. I'll take Sullinger any day of the week. -

Wow, thanks for that great insight. Feel free to post something that would make me think different...karen lotz;1121366 wrote:LOL. -
AutomatikI think Gates is a solid player and has been doing great towards the end of the season, but "dominant"? C'mon now.

Early CuylerI go to Ohio State, but will be rooting for Cincinnati.
Hope this helps. -

When he decides to rev up his motor, he is a beast. It is hard to deny this statement if you have watched any UC games.Automatik;1121384 wrote:I think Gates is a solid player and has been doing great towards the end of the season, but "dominant"? C'mon now. -

That is pretty much all Lotz does. He has like 20 favorite teams that he bandwagons on.centralbucksfan;1121383 wrote:Wow, thanks for that great insight. Feel free to post something that would make me think different... -

Players can affect the outcome of games not just based on points and rebounds, you do know that? Sullinger isn't affecting anything down low with that 2 inch vertical of his. and I'm a fucking buckeyes fan.centralbucksfan;1121382 wrote:12pts and 9 rebounds per game? Thats dominant? A non-factor last night? Obviously your dumbass didn't watch the game. -
Automatik
I don't disagree, but that doesn't translate to being dominant. He was playing with energy last night and the rest of the team was feeding off of it.Early Cuyler;1121392 wrote:When he decides to rev up his motor, he is a beast. It is hard to deny this statement if you have watched any UC games.
Honestly though, I'm not really worried about him. If OSU comes to play they should wear them down and get the W, but with this team it's hard to say. I just hope Deshaun does his thing and keeps filling it up. -

Ah you're one of THOSE fans huh? That's worse than the guy who lives in Cleveland and roots for the Lakers...at least that's pro sports. Not rooting for the school you ACTUALLY attend is just a fucking embarrassment. -

Isn't affective down low? WTF are you talking about? Sullinger may struggle against taller, longer players. Gates is 6'9". Same size. I am sure it will be a challenge for Sullinger. But I'd rather go against Gates than the guy he just played against from Gonzaga who was 7'. And all Sullinger did, with his POOR down low moves was get 18pts in 25 min. Give me a break.DeyDurkie5;1121394 wrote:Players can affect the outcome of games not just based on points and rebounds, you do know that? Y-Town SteelhoundNot to mention Sullinger has this thing called a jump shot. Pretty sure that counts for the same amount of points.

Actually DUMBASS, I did watch. It was about as FUGLY as FUGLY can get. Last nite, neither team would have been within 20 of any top team, including OSU!Early Cuyler;1121397 wrote:A non-factor last night? Obviously your dumbass didn't watch the game. -

I'll root for who I want. I don't attend Cincinnati because they don't have a program that my major is in, so SMD.Y-Town Steelhound;1121400 wrote:Ah you're one of THOSE fans huh?
