Ohio St @ Michigan St 3-4

That was a clutch shot by Buford. He's had his share of misses so it was nice to see him hit one. And this team showed some mental toughness I thought was lacking with the comeback win at MSU. I'm hoping that will carry over into the tournament.

Craft was steady again, Buford played like it was weekday, Sully was overwhelmed defensively but made some tough shots, Thomas had an excellent second half, and I take back everything I said about Ravenel (for today anyway)...really, really good win at a tough venue in a hostile environment--and it couldn't have come at a better time.

Buford's game winning rain maker was set up by a terrific defensive stand from Evan Ravenel as he forced Draymond Green to launch a tough 17 foot turnaround jumper with :24 to play and the game tied at 70. Ravenel was an absolute beast after Jared Sullinger picked up his 4th foul with 8:32 to play.
The seldom used transfer from Boston College entered for Sully and immediately went to work converting an and-1 that gave Green his 4th foul at 7:10 while tying the game at 58. Afer an MSU free throw gave Sparty a one point lead, Ravenel hit a layup off a great look from Craft and hit a pair of free throws after Derrick Nix hit two of his own to keep the Buckeyes in front at 62-61 with 4:22 to play.

I have always thought Ravenel could give them good minutes. He had shown the ability to do so on occasion. Just not consistant. What I liked, was how he came in and was aggressive. He knocked Green down that one time and I didn't have a problem with that at all. Showed me he/OSU were not going to back down.

    You're all welcome
If you had a clue about OSU(you don't), you would know they run that play often for Buford. ;)

It's the same one they ran against UK last year right? I can't remember clearly and can't check Youtube.

I would hope all Buckeye fans would. Last years tournament was so wide open and we had our worst game of the year.

Still tough for me to watch that. But what I did notice painfully watching again is that if Craft would have looked to his right, Diebler was about wide open alone for the game winner. 4 of Kentucky's players were running towards Buford.

I haven't seen anything from that game since that night, but wow did that hurt to watch again as a fan.

I was thinking it was Kentucky last night too, but I'm pretty sure it was actually the Indiana game this year. Not a buzzer beater, there were around 10 seconds left.

But I'm pretty sure that was the dribble handoff from Craft going left on the right wing.

It was, and I still think that was a poor play to run at that time.

Anyone figure out the technical on Green? Did OSU even shoot FT's on that? That was the only part of the game I missed. Just curious...

As fans, sometimes people have unrealistic expectations and want their team to win every year. Even when they know in the back of their mind its doubtful. But what hurt me about the Kentucky game last NCAA tournament was I REALLY thought that was the year the Bucks would win it all. I don't think I ever felt so confident in my life. A inside post game in Sullinger, inside defense with Lauderdale, 3-point specialist Diebler, 'lockdown' defender (Lighty), pro type player Buford, good decision making point guard in Craft. A good combination of Senior leadership and McDonalds All-Americans. What more could a team ask for? And the two teams that beat us prior to that did so with players having huge games. If the Bucks win it this year it will help heal the pain a little bit more. But as you were saying, the easier route probably was last season.

That's exactly how I felt. As well as about everyone I regularly (or occasionally) watch games with. Last year was what looked to be a perfect storm with no dominating teams, but OSU not seeming to have any real weaknesses that could be exploited. And then the Kentucky game happened...
