sleeper stirs the pot, you actually believe the shit you post. -
AutomatikI didn't see the call, but how was it compared to when Sully got drilled in the gut during the out of bounds?
I felt that should have been a T, but I didn't argue about it to death. -

They talked about it.centralbucksfan;1101447 wrote:The planet? Wow, thats pretty big! I luv being unique. Funny how announcers sure didn't dwell on it. -
centralbucksfanBTW, still waiting on SOMEONE, ANYONE to tell me WHY it is a "T"? Explanation please? Throwing the ball in the air isn't quite good enough...lol

Ya, I am SO different then YOU and others. lol Troll. -
ytownfootballIt was worth NW tying the game just to hear Gus go Gus, he's great.
As far as the ball toss shit, you probably are going to swallow the whistle in that spot given you should have called the utter mugging you just let happen imo. Despite Hightower in the building though I thought it was fairly well officiated, you pick a play here or there but overall no major complaints. -

Did you think throwing the ball at Sully on that inbound play was a T?centralbucksfan;1101458 wrote:BTW, still waiting on SOMEONE, ANYONE to tell me WHY it is a "T"? Explanation please? Throwing the ball in the air isn't quite good enough...lol
What reason would that have been a T? -

Intent? He was pissed about the call.centralbucksfan;1101428 wrote:What intent was there? If it was a "T", what would it be called for?
Yes. It gets called all the time.centralbucksfan;1101436 wrote:Ok, call a "T" for what? Tossing the ball in air? lol Wow...
For someone who can post so intelligently at times about basketball you also have some of the most idiotic. It's okay to be a homer, but you can't even make an argument that it shouldn't have been a T. If I'm Northwestern I'm calling Delaneys office in the morning for an explanation. -

Called all the time? Sorry pal. I have been around the game a LONG time. Never EVER seen that called. Not once. Don't exaggerate. Its a complete JUDGEMENT call. And again, timing of the game, score, situation is all taken into account by officials with half a brain. As mentioned above. If thats a "T", then the one where Sully got drilled in the nuts a couple games back should have been called as well. You know as well as I do, things are said and done throughout a game that officals could call a "T" left and right. The F bomb flies by coaches consistantly. This is big time D1 basketball. They are not going to call a T on that. Coach K blows out 50 F bombs a game directly at officials. Shouldn't those be T's as well?? That sure as hell is A LOT worse then tossing the ball. He didn't throw it at anyone. Didn't wing it at the officials. It wasn't smart on Sully part. But it wasn't as bad as some of you are making it out to be.thedynasty1998;1101463 wrote:Intent? How is that for an arguement? -

You've never seen someone get called for a T for something they did with the ball after they got called for a foul?centralbucksfan;1101458 wrote:BTW, still waiting on SOMEONE, ANYONE to tell me WHY it is a "T"? Explanation please? Throwing the ball in the air isn't quite good enough...lol -

So if a guy throws the ball at the scoreboard after every foul thats not a T?centralbucksfan;1101458 wrote:BTW, still waiting on SOMEONE, ANYONE to tell me WHY it is a "T"? Explanation please? Throwing the ball in the air isn't quite good enough...lol -
ytownfootballIt could have been called but it was tossed...in the general direction of the endline. He didn't drill it, he didn't swear and cuss when he did it. There are a lot of factors that could have tipped it in the T him up thought on the part of the officials that just didn't happen. Damn

Don't twist it. Not for just tossing the ball in the air back to the baseline. It was not that bad. As I mentioned above, there is a HELL OF A LOT worse that goes on every game that is not called.SportsAndLady;1101466 wrote:You've never seen someone get called for a T for something they did with the ball after they got called for a foul? -

Delay of game? The same reason you can't grab the ball after a made basket goes through the hoop.centralbucksfan;1101458 wrote:BTW, still waiting on SOMEONE, ANYONE to tell me WHY it is a "T"? Explanation please? Throwing the ball in the air isn't quite good enough...lol -

Come on, thats a stretch!! And guess what happens...a warning is then given. Not a "T".Mulva;1101487 wrote:Delay of game? The same reason you can't grab the ball after a made basket goes through the hoop. -
Laley23That was a T. I dont know how anyone can argue it not.
When giving the ref the ball, you gotta look at them. You can really never throw the ball in the air. Anything that appears to show up a ref is a T. That ball was towards the baseline, but not Hightower. Gus even said "Ohhh Buford throws the ball." Of course it was Sully. Or something like that.
That was totally showing up the referees. -
Laley23
Its only a warning because its a live ball technically. Sully was on a dead ball. You gotta give the referee the ball or set it down. You cant fucking throw it over your shoulder, 1 handed, without even looking at the ref. That is a technical foul, its like the definition lol.centralbucksfan;1101489 wrote:Come on, thats a stretch!! The AnswerThey said during the game that Mich St clinched the 1 seed for the tourney after Purdue won tonight. No idea how or what that had to do with the possible tiebreaker but Sparty will be the 1 seed no matter this weekends outcome.
-
Laley23From a quick glance at my referee handbook (which is 99% the same as college):
-Refusing to immediately pass the ball to the nearer official when a whistle blows
-Throwing the ball into the stands or otherwise prevent a ball from being made live promptly
-Disrespectfully addressing an official or gesturing in such a manner as to indicate resentment
Any one of those 3 could have easily been called. Had he turned, looked and thrown TO Hightower...no issue. -
Laley23
I assume because all teams (UofM, MSU, OSU) split with Wisconsin and IU, and then Purdue is next in line. Did MSU have the only 2-0 versus them? The Answer;1101540 wrote:They said during the game that Mich St clinched the 1 seed for the tourney after Purdue won tonight. Your quote was throwing the ball in the air is not good enough. Sure it is, that can be a T every time.centralbucksfan;1101482 wrote:Ohhh, so now he throw it at the scoreboard? Wow...going to bed. Thanks for the nightly discussion gentleman.
If you cant beat 'em, head to bed. -
Tiger2003What Sully did is worthy of a T. He was disgusted that he didn't get a foul and walked away with the ball and flung it over his head. Unsportsmanlike Conduct is the key thing and that wasn't sportsman like in any way.
