Are they recruiting him for a qb? I wouldn't figure they would take another one since they already had the jersey shore looking guy. -

You think Shane looks Jersey Shore? LOLstroups;1091813 wrote:Are they recruiting him for a qb? I wouldn't figure they would take another one since they already had the jersey shore looking guy.
They still need depth at QB. After Denard leaves, they likely only have Devin for 1 more year, then down to 2 scholly QBs. -
WebFire4* OL John Montelus might be in AA for a visit tomorrow.

WebFire@mspeedskills: 4-star DE Jonathan Allen 6'4 230lbs, the #1 weak-side DE in the nation, names his top 5: Alabama, Michigan, PSU, OU, UF.

#1 punter in the country just committed to Auburn. -
WebFireYeah I know that a handful do. I just don't consider a handful to be a common thing. I'd rather my team not use scholarships on these positions unless it's an extreme case.
-
Midstate01I don't think schools should be allowed to not have their kickers on scholly. It seems dumb to tell a kid he has to pay his way to kick for you.
-
WebFireWhy is it different than any other non-scholly player?

I would say because the kickers and punters have a very large impact on the game. Field position alone is worth a scholarship for one punter and one for a good kicker a easy choice IMO.WebFire;1092198 wrote:Why is it different than any other non-scholly player? -

Our scholly punter didn't punt any better than my high school's punter this year. I just don't think the talent level is great enough between the top and middle punters.bo shemmy3337;1092214 wrote:I would say because the kickers and punters have a very large impact on the game. Like I said, the top specialists in the country are on scholarship. It doesn't make sense not to. If you can get the best long snapper in the country, or the best punter, or the best kicker, that usually takes care of that phase of the game for 4 years without having to worry if you can find someone playing intramural soccer or whatever. I think those scholarships are well worth it when you look at how many games come down to a special teams play. -

No problem. Not saying your wrong. Just don't agree 100%.karen lotz;1092385 wrote:Like I said, the top specialists in the country are on scholarship. It doesn't make sense not to.
