Georgia Tech? Why would the B1G want to add Georgia Tech?! I'm not buying it.SportsAndLady;1106008 wrote:Got this off a Georgia Tech rumor site -
ts1227Yeah, that seems like one crazy ass rumor with about no credibility.
Whatever happened with the Temple/Big East stuff? That was "imminent", yet they're still in the MAC/A-10. -

I've heard the B1G has had interest in Georgia Tech before. They have similar academic standards as the B1G and Delaney has made it known there would be interest in shoring up a team or two in the south. The thought process would it would open up southern recruiting to the rest of the B1G.Scarlet_Buckeye;1106017 wrote:Georgia Tech? Why would the B1G want to add Georgia Tech?! I'm not buying it.
I would not be surprised if the four letter network has their hands on it. They basically own the ACC and they were instrumental in the recent acquisition of Pitt and Syracuse. -

Its expected to be wrapped up this week. Looks like it is in the paperwork stages.ts1227;1106022 wrote:Yeah, that seems like one crazy ass rumor with about no credibility.

SportsAndLadyAnyone know if Ga Tech is an AAU school? The B1G nuts over that shit.

WooballIF the B1G would add Notre Dame, Rutgers, UMD and GaTech they would add some nice TV Markets in NYC, Philly(if not already had), Baltimore/DC and Atlanta. Would probably be an ideal grab for the BTN. Outside of getting Texas, this would probably be the best they could do in terms of adding $$$ to the conference, which is all this is about.
-
gorocks99Why would ESPN push that deal? It would primarily serve to boost the BTN (aka the competition). Sounds dumb to me.
-
ksig489I heard Wofford and Orel Roberts to the B1G...any truth to that?
-
Little DannyPress Conference at 5:30pm to announce Temple to the Big East for football in 2012. They will join in all other sports in 2013.

lol which would NOT make the conference stronger.ts1227;1322425 wrote:Maryland, Rutgers to B1G?

It would however lead to some decent basketball. -
Terry_TateHate adding Maryland and Rutgers.
-
WebFireNot a big fan if this happens.
-
Fly4FunI don't want Rutgers/Maryland.
-
sleeperThis is a done deal. Book it.
-
MulvaThat would have to be the end of the Big East, right?
Edit: nevermind. They'll just be the new C-USA. Forgot about the future additions. I was thinking they'd be down to like 6 teams without Rutgers. -
Crimson streakRutgers makes sense but Maryland is kind of a head scratcher
-
dazedconfusedi really don't understand the point of adding rutgers and maryland

JU-ICEDumb move, super conferences are the future and the they should look to get out ahead of it and add Texas, Oklahoma, Okie State and Kansas.

Exactly. If the B1G already has deals with cable carriers in the D.C., Philly and NYC tv areas, I believe those cable providers have to pick up the BTN as a standard channel, paying $$ per subscriber.Crimson streak;1322768 wrote:Tv $$$$
