He is second on the team in asst. and the last couple of games, has gone above his avg. He didn't force shots today. I'd say he was giving up the rock just fine.

    #Sleeperfails
We won by 17 against the #7 team in the country. He played great.

Yes, I'll just about gaurantee Matta was. Why do you think those plays were ran for him? Matta called those plays.

Him not scoring much and giving up TO's. I never said he was terrible, but a starting "scorer" should do more.

Then maybe Matta needs more heat if those were his decisions, because they were horrid.

God forbid I want this team to go deep in the tourny. Ok fine. All we want is a high seed and an early out? Ya, Buford is playing great!!!!

If we beat every 2 seed in the country by 17, I think we'll be alright.

When you win by 17 against the #7 team in the country, you don't have to.

And where, pray tell, did anyone say that? Look, you think Buford has to go triple double because he's a senior in order for them to go deep in the tournament. If not then exactly what? 18/12/7? I mean all anyone is saying is that OSU didn't win "in spite of William Buford" That comment was simply off the mark for the day.

Ya, now your making yourself look stupid. I get what your saying. I agree Buford isn't shooting the ball well. I agree, for OSU to make a run in the tourney, they are going to NEED him. BUT, they also won today, won big without him scoring. Which is a VERY GOOD sign. Others guys stepped up. Thats what this team needed. Its going to give this team more confidence in other guys such as Smith Jr. I am also confident, Buford will find his shot. I am sure NO ONE wants that more than him. The guys is going to end up as a top 5 all time scorer in OSU history. He has had a very good career at OSU. I am confident, he will find his stroke soon.

I don't see any reason to bitch about this victory...

He has to be efficient and hit big shots when needed. He has to be the guy to score from outside when needed. He needs to be the guy to put up 20 when they double Sully all game. I never said he has to get a triple double every night. Consistency. That is the key.
  • Laley23
Buford played fine. He was wide open and just missed a few times. If he didnt shoot, youd know his confidence was shot, and that WOULD be a BIG problem for OSU. Shooters shoot their way out. In past games, when he forced the shots, it was an issue. But he is a shooter and needs to find the stroke. So he has to take those shots when they are there.

We all want that but that's not an issue when Smith goes off for 28. He took and made the shots WB didn't, and WB still had 12. It's no big deal, he'll find the shot, or we'll see him struggle. He's not coming off the floor.

I disagree. Consistency, yes. But he doesn't need to hit 20. Thomas can get that. Big shots? Sully and Thomas can do that as well. Buford is NOT needed to do those things. Now when all three on are, OSU won't get beat. OSU is the ONLY team in the country right now that has 3 players who avg. 15+. Buford today, actually got OSU going if you remember. Not garbage time btw.
Whats funny, ur ripping on Buford, when in fact, Sullinger may have been the worst of the 5 today. But God forbid we rip on the golden boy. ;)

Well, he did only have 2 points in the first half, his other 14 were in garbage time.:o

On the money. Wondering if you were still hanging in there after today. Took a good friend of mine to game, he is big IU fan. He walked in expecting what happened. So I think it lessoned the blow today. OSU played lights out defense in first half. I think the only open/good look they had was Hall first jumper of game. Obviously a combination of great OSU defense and IU not executing. Even great defense won't hold a team like IU to only 14 pts in a half.

Sully had 21 9 and shot 50%. Thomas had some bad airballs, and Ravenal is worthless most times.

He had 16pts today. NOT 21. He had 2pts in first half. Game was over. 14 in GARBAGE time!! Ouch!

Everybody does. Not everybody said they won today in spite of him. Try to back out of the corner gracefully and give it up.
