Yeah you are probably right, they didn't try to win

They won't lose money, but they will make less next year on ad revenue.

It didn't appear so in the second half, or Les Miles is the most incompetent halftime adjustment coach ever. I watched the game on replay (awesome here since they are allowed to skip commercials and show every play back to back, along with replays, thus one can watch the game in under a couple of hours), the conservative play calling was pathetic with so much on the line. Not even putting Lee in the game is inexcusable.

Maybe you should apply for a head coaching job. I'm sure you know what you see are talking about.

According to the LSU boards, they might be hiring!

I understand your team appreciates mediocrity, so I get what you are saying. Putting up with Fat Charlie and Bob Davie (who was likely underappreciated) and O'Leary's resume must be difficult.

Weis and Davie were fired, O'Leary and his resume weren't put up with. Other than that good post.

I'm not sure why, but you've entered sleeper territory with your posting.

I think you meant to quote MB

So because LSU was bad on offense, anyone can claim they would have scored? The whole Gundy thing is retarded.

They would have least tried. LSU didn't even do that. You don't think Gundy would have unleashed Blackmon against Bama? I don't care that LSU lost, I care that their gameplan was inept. And they didn't change after halftime when the score was still a respectable and dare I say it, winnable at 9-0.

I don't know how anyone can defend Miles' coaching, apparently Karen Lotz disagrees but isn't bringing up any rational points, did she even watch the game? It was a disgraceful showing of incompetence.

Why? Are you a LSU fan?

Not particularly, just responding to the people that swear that these were the two best teams in college football, and that it was a good game. LSU deserved to be there, but they laid a giant turd in the game. Not even Musberger's Honey Badger references can save such a poor performance.

My point is just because LSU laid a turd, doesn't mean that Gundy's words are automatically true.

Doesn't mean he is wrong either. That is the sad part for fans we will never know.

Your solution was to play Lee, correct? How would he have been any better than Jefferson? As Miles said postgame, Lee is a pocket passer. Could you point out one play in the game where Jefferson was able to sit in the pocket and set his feet for a throw? They tried running the option, that didn't work. They tried running right at Bama, that didn't work. They tried short passes, that didn't work. Please bring up a rational point where Lee could have done something to help. They were completely outmatched last night, but I'm sure you could have drawn something up.

But Gundy said they'd throw the ball 50 times! Give them a chance to win a national championship because he will throw the ball 50 times!

Yeah, MB saying Notre Dame put up with George O'Leary's resume is both accurate and relevant to last night's game.

Yeah teams switching QB's never works.

I didn't say that. What could Lee have done last night? They had zero chance. Did you watch the game?

That was long after you were inexplicably being an ass to him. What's wrong with debating his opinion without being a prick about it?

No, I watched the highlights this morning but there weren't any for LSU and Bobby Hebert go off on Les Miles. At some point you have to do something different. Its not like Lee has never been put in before. Put him in for a series maybe something happens maybe not. But to not even try it is ridiculous.

After years of resistance, it seems more and more are desiring a playoff of some sort.

    How would he be worse?

"They tried running right at Bama, that didn't work. They tried short passes,"

They abandoned using an athletic advantage, a bubble screen, a reverse, a misdirection, a deep pass. They ran the most conservative offense I've ever seen in the second half of a game when they still had an opportunity to win. It was an awful gameplan and even worse game management.
