How long until Kelly leaves ND for another school?

  • Writerbuckeye
ND has more money than any other school?

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Thank you for the laugh. It's been a rough couple days.

Too give the fooball coach, yes ND has more money. Harvard will never pay their coach close to what ND does.

Yawn at this thread and who started it. What a complete joke!

    Prove it.
  • The Equalizer
In 1993 Harvard signed their current coach to a contract paying $75,000 a year (he was making 112k at ironically cincy)

    http://www.nytimes.com/1993/12/07/sports/sports-people-college-football-harvard-hires-murphy.html

Now he was re-upped in 2006 for a 5 year extention and as best I can find, they never went public with the details but if you think that he went from 75K to millions, you're out of your fuckin mind.

    Congratuations on being ruined.

    This.

i've been saying this same thing on this one, (and the "JJ" version) in the past...Brian Kelly may have bitten off more than he can chew with the ND administration in place. He may end up in the same place as Bob Davie, Ty W., and Chollie W.....................that is the odds on bet in Vegas.
If he gets a chance at the helm of another school after 4 more years of .570 football, he'll be fortunate.
    Good Luck to him.
    He'll need it!

I meant the first part of his statement, rather than the latter.

I simply ask for proof of this statement, and I am labeled a "troll". Go figure.

Having looked through your wiki evidence, why do you think that because Harvard has more endowments than ND that they have more money to spend on a coach? Do you know what an endowment is? Most of those endowments are for students and professorships.

Now I do know that ND's football program by itself is worth 91M as of 2 years ago. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16440036/
The Fighting Irish football program is worth $91 million based on what the team contributes to the university’s athletic department for non-football sports ($23.5 million), the University’s academic use ($23.2 million), and the incremental sales to South Bend, Ind., and the surrounding county when the team plays games at Notre Dame Stadium.

I would believe that coaches salaries for the football team would be paid out of what the team brings in, through the athletic dept. Your assertion, unless you can provide the proof, that because Harvard deals with more money that they can spend it anywhere they want, is a bit misleading. They have budget and line items like anyone else and just because they have a billion dollars, doesn't mean they could offer a coach a billion a year if that money is already spoken for and assigned for other purposes.

So....do you have the information on harvard's athletic dept concerning their available budget for the football team?
  • The Equalizer
Actually I did just some (your) homework and found out harvard's atheltic dept is slashing things left and right lately due to economic times. No more hot breakfast for atheletes, travel has been toned down, they closed some facilities, they turned some sports like basketball and baseball to intremurals....but yea...harvard with its checkbook is going to pay an ivy league football coach more than notre dame....yea.

That is a daring bet being the schedule is so watered down.

Just for you Sleeper. I'm no ND fan at all, but they have the most valuable football program in college.

The University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish, worth $101 million, is the most valuable team in college football. Unlike the other programs on our list, Notre Dame's athletic department operates under the umbrella of the university and is not run as its own distinct entity. As a result, a much higher share of profits are retained by university for academic use.
Thanks for playing though. Proof enough? I think so. Good day

dwccrew, it doesn't matter if he's proven wrong, he'll either make something up or ignore it and wait a little bit before making a similar claim.

At this point it doesn't matter. There it is for him to read. If he wishes to dispute on here, I still know that off freehuddle, he knows that ND is the most valuable team in college football.

The schedule was watered down this year with an experienced team and look what happened with 3 potential 1st round draft picks at QB and WR.

ND in 2010 will have 6/7 Losses. Even with that watered down schedule.

Since when did revenue mean anything? Look at profit, you know, the money they have after all expenses have been paid. Looks like Texas has the most money to pay their football coach, and is CLEARLY backed up by Mack Brown being the highest paid coach in college football.

    Have a nice day! LOL

Sensitivity isn't unique to ND fans. See H2thaizzo's rant on the other thread. You seemed to get a little worked up over Touchdown Jesus too.
