Another TD for Boise. Like I said in another thread. So sad that they had to play ASU. This is going to be 17+ point win for Boise
  • ptown_trojans_1
And people want to keep the current system?
This is a joke. Boise should be in the Sugar Bowl, not awful VT or Michigan.
  • dazedconfused
burfict's mentor, i'm guessing, is ndamakong suh...dude teeters on the brink of meltdown every play
  • dlazz

I'm sure there are people out there who are saying Boise is only winning because they don't play anybody and ASU plays in a tough conference where the beat each other up.
    :p

Yep. VT did not beat a Top 25 team and lost to Clemson twice by a combined margin of 48 points. The rallied to beat Duke.... freaking Duke!! They have no business in a BCS bowl.

    No. ASU just sucks ass.
  • dazedconfused
hope the sugar bowl is impressed with themselves...

Didn't people think ASU would compete for a Natty?

Yeah, which is sad the number 7 team is playing in a bowl game.
What a joke of a system.
  • gerb131
But they have the tallest qb or something. Still getting shallacked.
  • dlazz
That stat they showed at halftime is ridiculous:

The seniors on Boise's team have never trailed at halftime (53 games).

Neither do michigan,Clemson or West Virginia the BCS is awesome. Not only have they ruined the NC game they have ruined all the other Big Bowl games too.

Ain't even worth a 12 pack of that swill tonight.

They got the high hard one this year, but those that take home bank from these things seized the opportunity to keep them and TCU out after "having" to take them the last several years...

Therein lies the problem with college football; nobody should be shutting anyone out from a bowl game for arbitrary, petty reasons if a team is good enough to be there.

arbitrary and petty to you (even me in a lot of instances) but if you're chairman of the board that is in charge of maximizing profit, well not so petty or arbitrary. It's not an NCAA sanctioned system so you get "what the masses" want, or should I say what hits the bottom line the heaviest.

The masses do not want Va Tech vs. Michigan. Most have been critical of that matchup.

The BCS wanted that matchup because they thought those two fanbases would bring the bigger crowds to NOLA.

It doesn't matter anyways though. The game doesn't mean jack. People scream from the rooftop that the NCAA regular season means the most in all of sports. The postseason means the least of all sports. What other sport do you see coaches quitting their job before the final game to take another job?

So their "answer" is going to be a +1 format, obviously that won't be sufficient enough considering the bitchfest surrounding this game lol...goes to show those that hate this system now won't be happy until half the damn NCAA DI's are in a playoff.

Eliminate the ability of the bowls to pick, use a NCAA bball style selection committee. That way, deserving teams do not get screwed out of good matchups.
We as fans are getting the shaft by not seeing this Boise team against another top 10 team. The system needs a complete overhaul. It worked 15 years ago, but not now.

You have a top 10 team forced to play before Christmas against a team who fired their coach. Say what you want about a playoff, Boise deserved better than this. "Great season guys! Go play in a marginal bowl game that nobody cares about now! We need to give automatic bids to bad Big East and ACC schools"
