I'm amazed at someone who can completely contradict themselves multiple times in one sentence. But you are a pro at it, dude. Well done.

Good point. The Big East is not a big boy, its a small child. Boise will go undefeated year after year, book it.

sleeper gets confused at what stance he takes since he has so many, he would make a great politician.

Danny you're spot on, ill never understand why the ACC doesn't take heat like the Big East. Mostly ignorant fans who don't actually watch college football, but paint their face and get drunk every Saturday.

I'm a huge UC fan, but last weekend drove about a thousand miles total to watch college football. Detroit on Friday night for the MAC title game, then cincy at noon on Saturday for the UC game, then straight to indy for the Big ten title game. One hell of a weekend.

*By save the conference, I mean the equivalent to using duct tape to patch the Titanic.
To answer my own question... Nope, they're still being dickheads about it

Marinatto said he'd like to see a football championship game at some point in Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, akin to the Big East basketball tournament in Madison Square Garden.

First I've heard of this. Finally a conference championship outdoors in the cold.

That would actually be pretty awesome

We've had a game at Yankee Stadium already this year and have heard nothing but negative feedback...I think the idea is a good one, but logistically a poor one.
  • dave
What is so bad logistically? They are used to huge crowds there all the time. I'm pretty sure the bowl game last year was pretty successful.

The Notre Dame game last year was also successful from everything I have read.
  • dave
The only game I see that was played this year was Rutgers/Army. If that is what you are referring to that is probably why there was negative feedback. For a game that will be shown nationally they will provide the right environment/personnel to make it successful.

Maybe logistically wasn't the right word...everyone I've talked to here at Rutgers who sat in the lower level said it was way too close and you couldn't see the field in some locations.

Obviously the product on the field was lousy lol but the seats I guess sucked.

I personally sat in the 2nd level for the game and thought they were okay, although it was kinda odd.

I did hear that game went very well.

I believe it was the game at Wrigley which was terrible. If I remember correctly they could only use on end zone so they had to constantly switch fields.

That makes sense, I can imagine there are a lot of crappy seats. Hopefully they have a good pricing structure that takes that into account.

I heard no complaints about Yankee Stadium when Syracuse and K-State played their last year.

That being said, I think a championship game in the Bronx is a bad idea. I can't imagine to many people will travel from their respective places to watch Boise v. USF. I also can't imagine the New Yorkers would have much interest either. The game should be played at the home stadium of the team with the best record (or other tie-breaking scenarios).

Yeah, we saw what UC did against BCS teams that were not in their conference.

LOL at Louisville vs. Wake Forest. That'd be a good b-ball game, can't believe that was a BCS bowl.

QQ, ACC gets just as much shit. Hell, the B1G gets a lot of shit.

Well, in the past several years UC has beaten Oregon State twice (good Oregon State squads with the Rogers brothers), Illinois, North Carolina State and was a muffed punt on their own five year line late in the fourth quarter from beating Oklahoma. I know you are referencing the bowl games, but UC did lose to Virginia Tech 20-7 in 2008 (people always talk about a blow out but that is rivisionist history) and they lost to a Tim Tebow led 12-1 Florida team by the same margin that OSU lost to them just a couple years before.

The names stink on paper, but those were actually pretty decent U of L and Wake Forest squads. The Demon Deacons were 11-2 and rolled though the ACC. Louisville only lost one game that year and beat the U. in a rain storm.

Riddle me this Batman: Do you see any way in hell that the Big East could get two teams in a BCS Bowl game; particulary when one of those squads have zero top 25 wins and lost in their championship game by more than 4 TDS? It's worked for the ACC.

Also, I don't hear anyone every mentioning the fact the ACC has had teams with four losses making it to a BCS bowl game on three occasions, but yet when the Big East did it last year with UCONN everyone was calling for the end of the BCS Bid for the Big East. Likewise, you never hear anyone upset about the fact that since 1998, the ACC has one BCS bowl win (VT's win over UC). Since 2005, when VT, Miami and BC left the conference, they Big East has won three BCS Bowl games.

Finally, the Big East won the head to head matchups with the ACC this season.

All I hear from you UC guys is how badly the ACC sucks...

yet you continue to thump your Big East chest about wins over the ACC...

No, what UC fans do is respond to comments that they cannot beat anyone in any other BCS conference with an AQ bid. This has been proven time and again to be false.

At the same time, UC and fans of other Big East squads have had to listen to the talking heads at ESPN and other media outlets wag their finger to the television monitor every year at about how Big East sucks, while ignoring the fact teams in the ACC continue to lose their BCS games and get waxed in their other bowl games as well. People then throw the margin of victory in the UC and UCONN game out there, while then ignoring when schools in other AQ BCS conferences get drilled by even larger margins of victories. It gets very frustrating to hear time and again.

I applaud the Naval Academy. They like Air Force have said, "NO". to the Big East...at least for now.

The current CBS Sports TV contract with Navy, future bowl commitments and scheduling commitments all make it impossible to be part of this conference expansion.

    http://www.hometownannapolis.com/news/nas/2011/12/07-55/Navy-won-t-join-Big-East-mdash-for-now.html

I'm glad. Maybe in a couple of years things will settle down Navy will still be able to financially stay independent.
