1) So either the player pitched the ball backwards after crossing the goal line.
or
2) The player pitched the ball forward from the field of play.
So it is either 1) a TD or 2) an illegal forward pass out of bounds, 1&G from the 5.5 yard line.
LOL at failhook trying desperately to make LSU's win seem undeserving. -

Your first point isn't right because the ball is clearly behind the goal line when he pitched it while the player is standing on the goal line. Either way my point that it is not a Td stands and who knows if LSU scores.Sonofanump;1000329 wrote:The official caught the ball standing directly on the goal line.

Yes, because we have a line (the most important line on the field) and an official stationary.superman;1000340 wrote:Easy call in this case
The hard one is when the QB pitches the ball beyond the LOS or a defender attempts a lateral after a turnover. -

It is not a point or contention. It is an either/or. Nothing else is plausible. So you are in agreement that the pitch was forward? What player is standing on the goal line?Skyhook79;1000357 wrote:Your first point isn't right because the ball is clearly behind the goal line when he pitched it while the player is standing on the goal line. Look at the still picture in the link. Look at where #7 is standing. Look at where the ball is when it is out of #7 hands.
Doesn't the ball have to croos the plane to be a TD? -

First, #7 is not standing. Second, which direction is the ball moving and when did it become being in player possesion to be a loose ball?Skyhook79;1000374 wrote:Look at the still picture in the link. Look at where #7 is standing. Look at where the ball is when it is out of #7 hands.

WebFireWatching it live, it looks like he was way over the line when he tossed it.

I don't think you can make the call based on this still. Where was the ball right before he tossed it? We need video of this angle.Skyhook79;1002575 wrote:Tell me, Sonofaump, where the ball is and where #7 is? -

You just don't get it do you? It was a forward pass. Incomplete and illegal. The spot of the foul is were he threw the ball from. The enforcement is 5 yards from that spot and loss of the right to replay the down (which does not apply due to change of possession). It would be LSU's ball, 1st and goal from the 5 1/2 yard line. I tried to lead you to the correct answer by asking logical questions, but that failed, so I decided to spell it out for you.Skyhook79;1002575 wrote:Tell me, Sonofaump, where the ball is and where #7 is? -

Lets see, LSU total 9pts last time they played. And it took them until the 3rd qtr to get a first down vs Georgia. Saban has a month to prepare for this game. And you think LSU will win by 2 TD's?
I think Bama wins this game. -

Damn, that ball is obviously going to land somewhere around the 2 yard line.Skyhook79;1002575 wrote:Tell me, Sonofaump, where the ball is and where #7 is? -
