    Fucking Drarby!

I suppose that makes Yuri Wright's recruitment all that more important.

The difference between this staff and Weis' staff (while, there are a ton of them) is that they don't sit on their thumbs in times like these.

    Damnit Darby

Did he decommit because of track? What happend?

Kyle Prater is leaving USC. Any word on where he will end up?

Nothing yet except for rumors that Southern Cal blocked ND. Maybe Illinois.

Notre Dame is ranked 23rd in ESPN's Way Too Early Top 25.

I give it a 5% chance that they finish the season ranked.

They also play 4 of the top 11/5 of the top 17 in that poll.

    Yikes.

RT @bhardin2: #ND @CoachBrianKelly has received a two-year contract extension and is under contract now through 2016 http://t.co/pUyiK27y

And they still will not place top 10 in the nation for many years.

    Why?

They have an excellent shot of doing so in 2013, if this class holds up.

You typically need 2+ great classes in a row and good coaching for that to happen.

Things are going according to plan, for the most part. The 2011 class had epic amounts of DL talent, and it was on display throughout 2011, the 2012 is loading up seriously on DB's to get elite talent behind said DL (although with the Darby situation doesn't help).

Probably recruiting purposes and maybe the fact that he has improved every facet of the program post-Weis and that they are generally excited about the future of the program?

It's not stupid. He still has 2 years left on his contract. To me, he didn't doing anything worthy of locking in another 2 years this early.

Ok. To the person that makes that decision, he did.

From the link in the post about the extension:
"While Coach Kelly and I are focused on the additional work that must be done to reach our goals, I am very pleased with the progress we have made during the past two years." University of Notre Dame vice president and director of athletics Jack Swarbrick said. "Our football team's performance on the field, in the classroom, and in the community reflect Coach Kelly's commitment to building a program that will be able to sustain success in the long run, and to doing so in a manner consistent with Notre Dame's values and tradition."

"The quality of the assistant coaches that Coach Kelly has brought to Notre Dame is evident both in their performance and the interest that other schools have shown in them since the end of the regular season," Swarbrick said. "Building on the foundation we have now created and maintaining continuity is critical to the future success of our football program, and that is why we have secured the continued service of our football staff."

I hope that this clears up any confusion you still have WebFire.

Take it easy buddy. I don't care. Just asked why. Seemed somewhat out of the blue.

Sorry. The reasons why were in the link which were in the original post.

Some rumors going around that Hawaii will be added to the schedule at the end of the year. Starting out in Dublin and then finishing in Hawaii wouldn't be too bad.

I would possibly be in favor of doing that trip every other year. I would think that it grabs the attention of recruits fairly well, or at the very minimum it's another something to add to the list of things you can throw at them in their livingroom. It's much like how Notre Dame would alternate finishing their season at Southern Cal and at Miami (now it's at Stanford). I'd rather play Hawaii more often than Stanford.
