Because I don't think they're good enough to beat LSU. I thought that before the Iowa State loss, and that loss only confirmed by thoughts.

If they played 10 times I think Bama probably wins 7.

Bama had almost 60 more yards of offense (which is a significant number when neither team even reaches 300), and moved the ball much better in general. LSU had 2 drives where they moved the ball 40 yards or more (75 and 40). Alabama had 4 (79, 62, 49, and 43).

Every drive Alabama had in the 1st half moved into LSU territory and resulted in a field goal attempt. They just have terrible kickers. That's the reason LSU won.

They had more than twice as many scoring opportunities and squandered them (4 missed field goals + botched trick play deep in LSU territory). I know they were long field goals, but that's why they have a long kicker and a short kicker. His only job on the team is to make the long field goals, and he's terrible at it (2/9 on the season).

LSU had 1 great drive at the end of the 2nd quarter, and that's all they did. Alabama did a horrible job finishing drives, but they moved the ball pretty consistently and were clearly the better team in the game in my opinion.

I know the final score is all that matters, but if they end up in a rematch for the title I would take Alabama with no hesitation at all.

And saying Alabama is the best team in the country doesn't discredit LSU at all.
Just saw these stats on another site.

"LSU, Alleman made FG's of 19, 30, and 25 yards.
    Bama made FG's of 34 and 46, missed from 44, 50, 52, and had a 49 yarder blocked.
During the LSU-Bama game, Bama attempted 5 FG's 44 yards or longer and went 1/5. Alleman has attempted 1 FG longer than 44 yards all season and missed."

Do you still think Bama outplayed LSU in every aspect? At least they could get their team in field goal range instead of trying for field goals they knew they couldnt make. If Saban outcoached Miles, he should of punted the ball and pinned LSU by the endzone. And as I said, from Bama's endzone to the 30 yard line isnt dominating. They need to get to the redzone if they wanted to win, in which they couldnt do.

it seems to me that bama had more oppurtunities, therefore outplayed LSU
