hoops23Lol at anybody trying to pin Miller as the reason we lost. To do so is idiotic.
He was the only reason we even had a chance. He missed throws, but he showed a ton of improvement today as a passer. He's a true freshman, you can't expect him to nail every pass.
He had well over 300 yards of offense today and made several big plays.
You wanna blame somebody? Blame the defensive unit as a whole, including coaches. -
Midstate01Congrats to Michigan.
Now bring on urban. -
believerThis was a fitting end to a largely craptacular season....well, ok, maybe not quite the end if the 6-6 Buckeyes accept an invitation to play in the Crap Care Bowl.
Still, this game was at least entertaining and a lot closer than I expected.
If this is the best Michigan can do to a down Ohio State squad in front of 100,000 (+) Michigan fans after losing 7 straight to the Buckeyes, no matter what bowl game the Weasels get invited to, it will likely be an embarrassing performance for the university and for the BIG.
Braxton Miller played a fine game, but showed his true freshman inexperience in a few key off-target passes. Can someone please teach this kid the art of throwing tight spirals? Just sayin'....
The defense, while decimated by injuries, has nevertheless been a complete joke the past few games.
For Ohio State it's time for Urban to stop dodging the obvious and get this team back on track.
Screw the NCAA and its stupid rule book. Screw the Tattooed 5 for setting themselves before the team. Screw Tressel for not being forthright. And screw Blue. -
stlouiedipalmaAmen to all of the above.

If you took Michigan +6 you push, you don't win money. Idiot.cats gone wild;988200 wrote:If you wanna win money, read my posts. Still, a good game today.
Michigan deserved the win. They outplayed OSU and burned them on the ground and most importantly won the game at the LOS. That final drive by OSU was easily the worst playcalling I have ever witnessed. Mad Hatter like. 2nd and 12 and you run a QB draw with 1 TO left? WTF??? Then you continue to pass in the middle of the field? Spike it on 3rd and 6? Not sure what Fickell and staff were thinking. Better coaching won this game.
The promising news is when we get a new coach, whomever that will be, they will be able to take the talent the Bucks have and do well. If Michigan can barely beat a down and horribly coached OSU team, I like what the future will bring with a new coaching staff. -

That is such crap. A W or a L is the only thing that matter in THE GAME. not the score. Also it's not like Michigan is going to get worse. this was the first year in a new system especially on defense and they have the number one recruiting class in the country. Say congrats and good game like a man and quit being a d bag. -

What does next year have to do with Believer's opinion that they'll get stomped in their bowl?bo shemmy3337;988274 wrote:Also it's not like Michigan is going to get worse. this was the first year in a new system especially on defense and they have the number one recruiting class in the country. -

P.S. - I reserve the right to say "I told you so" after your New Year's Day loss. -

bo shemmy3337Yea but the game does not nor has never been looked at as almost or what could have happened. You either win or you lose and today Michigan won.

wes_mantoothWorst osu team in my lifetime....glad the season is over.
I have a damn bad feeling about the big ten in bowl games.....gonna be even worse than normal. Hope I am wrong. -

They may not win a bowl game. The B1G is terrible this year. College football overall is down this season. Outside of LSU, Alabama and Oregon; I don't see any teams that are spectacular.wes_mantooth;988287 wrote:Worst osu team in my lifetime....glad the season is over.

Because I do not know who they are playing, I would expect OSU to get an easy school along with Iowa and Illinois. Michigan will have a tough test and I don't think Penn state has a chance in hell against whomever they play. Wisconsin could win and north western should get a crappy team too. I would say they will go at or a little above 500wes_mantooth;988287 wrote:Worst osu team in my lifetime....glad the season is over.

So wouldn't that give the Big 10 a better chance of winning if they're going up against worst competition than normal?dwccrew;988289 wrote:They may not win a bowl game. The B1G is terrible this year. College football overall is down this season. -

Thats part of the reason i think they will do fine in the bowls. The winner of the championship and Michigan will be the only teams who will and should be under dogs IMO.lhslep134;988297 wrote:So wouldn't that give the Big 10 a better chance of winning if they're going up against worst competition than normal? -

Not really, since they are equally, if not moreso, bad as the others. I'll have to see the match-ups, but I don't think many teams will win for the B1G. Wisconsin is about the only one I can see that could be favored. Depends on what bowls and who is matched up.lhslep134;988297 wrote:So wouldn't that give the Big 10 a better chance of winning if they're going up against worst competition than normal? -

With all due respect...no way that will happen.bo shemmy3337;988290 wrote:I would say they will go at or a little above 500
As some have pointed out, the BIG has SUCKED this season.
This is easily the second-worst Ohio State team I've followed since 1968 with the 1988 squad being slightly worse. Yet the best Michigan team since 2006 barely beat a mediocre Ohio State team in front of 100,000 (+) fans today.
And this scenario is not unique across-the-board in the BIG this year.
The BIG might win one or two bowl games this year. I might adjust my thinking a little once the bowl games are lined up but I doubt it. -

MulvaIt all depends on the match ups for the bowls. The B1G has tie-ins with the MAC and CUSA, so they should win at least a couple.
Also, if Michigan makes the BCS but plays a team like Houston, they aren't going to be an underdog. I don't personally see that match up happening, but it's possible. -

Agreed. Should be interesting once they find out. Here's the most recent ESPN Bowl projections (I'm going to use Brad Edwards).dwccrew;988303 wrote: Depends on what bowls and who is matched up.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls/projections
Wisconsin v. Oregon Rose Bowl
Michigan v. Houston Sugar Bowl
Purdue v. SMU Ticketcity Bowl
Penn State v. South Carolina Outback
MSU v. Arkansas Capital One
OSU v. Florida Gator Bowl
Iowa v. Missouri Mienecke Car Care
Nebraska v. Texas A & M Insight
Northwestern v. Toledo Little Caesars
Illinois v. Louisiana-Lafayette
Games I'm confident about (Big 10 3-2)
Houston over UM
SMU over Purdue
Nebraska over A&M
Illinois over Louisiana Lafayette
OSU over Florida (OSU might be bad, but Florida is TERRIBLE this year)
Toss ups (Big 10 possibly 1-4 in these games)
Penn State v. USCe (not sold on either of these teams)
MSU v. Arkansas (I think Arkansas will win, but I'm not confident in that)
Wisconsin v. Oregon (which Wisco will show up? The one that plays at home or on the road?)
Iowa v. Missouri
N'Western v. Toledo (two high powered offenses in what should be an entertaining game).
So I guess if these were the matchups, I'd predict a 4-6 record for the Big 10. -
MulvaMinnesota is up 20 on Illinois right now. Going to be 6 straight losses. I wouldn't even feel comfortable picking them over Louisiana-Lafayette at this point.
