#24 Notre Dame (8-3) at #5 Stanford (10-1)

Hamp89Creativity meaning bring in someone to run the offense if Rees isn't getting it done. I don't really care where the field position was in the BC game. Fact is that BC is a three win team. ND should be able to move the ball at will with all the weapons they have.

Wanna make a bet on whether ND goes to a BCS game?karen lotz;984136 wrote:YahooForde Pat Forde
BCS just sent out list of 30 teams still under consideration for the 10 BCS bowl slots. Eight of them not eligible for AQ spots.
AQ contenders: Clem, UVa, VT, 5 from Big East, Mich St, Penn St, Wisc, OU, Ok St, Az St, Ore, Stan, UCLA, Utah, Bama, Ark, UGA, LSU
At-large contenders: Baylor, Boise State, Houston, Kansas State, Michigan, Notre Dame, South Carolina, TCU.
It's so odd that Notre Dame would be under consideration from the BCS at this point when the 3 braniacs above say there is zero chance of ND being selected. -

I didn't say there was a zero chance of them getting in, I said it would be a joke if they did.karen lotz;984136 wrote:YahooForde Pat Forde

Where did I say they would play in a BCS game, dumbass? I'm saying it isn't impossible for them to make one. IF, and its its a very large IF, they beat Stanford and a few of the right teams ahead of them lose over the next two weeks, they could be ranked in the top 14 and be eligible. If they are eligible you don't think they'd get selected? They are going to have to play their best game of the year and it still might not be enough if Luck is himself.
I will make a bet if they beat Stanford and then move into the top 14, how about that? -

Honestly, no, I don't think they would get selected. Only 2 out of 6 teams get selected (8 automatics, must be in top 14 to be considered for at-large). That may increase to 3 out of 6 since there are 3 SEC teams in the top 8. I think there are other schools they'd take over ND. -

So them being eligible and still being considered by the BCS wouldn't be them getting near one? I see the logic in your statement.
2 of 6 teams get selected? There are 10 spots in the BCS. 6 automatics. -

No shit? Please quote the post in which I said they would be in the top 14 for sure? -

Yeah sorry, wasn't counting the fact that the top 2 would be conference winners. But that doesn't really help ND. More at-large teams to choose from.karen lotz;984483 wrote:So them being eligible and still being considered by the BCS wouldn't be them getting near one? I see the logic in your statement.

As for your first statement, I simply said they wouldn't get close. You are the one assuming this conversation has them in the top 14. I don't think they will be, win or lose. I stand by that statement. -

I'm going on record right now as saying I'd pay $1,000 for Notre Dame to play your Wolverines again in a BCS bowl. I'm also going on record as saying I'd make all $1,600 of that money back (yes, I'd be at the bowl just as I was at "Under the lights") when I bet on Notre Dame to win that game.WebFire;984469 wrote:Where did I say they wouldn't be eligible, dumbass? Huh? Ohhh you're just being bitter because you're team isn't good even though your homerism wants them to be good despite the facts that are thrown in your face. Ok I get it, you're delusional.karen lotz;984490 wrote:Come up with this thought on your own or did you hear it during pillow talk? -
karen lotzHuh? I'm a homer because I want my team to be good? I haven't said Notre Dame will be in a bcs game have I? Or that they necessarily deserve one at this point. I haven't even said I expect them to beat Stanford. All I've said is that IF they do beat them, AND a few teams ahead of them lose, they could possibly end up in a bcs game. They will need to play their best on Saturday and that might not be enough if Luck does what he does. If thinking that makes me a homer, so be it.
Side note. autocorrect on my phone changes homer to ginger. -

Agreed. Even if ND wins and whatever hell else has to happen that's akin to pigs flying/Browns making the playoffs, ND still wouldn't deserve a BCS bowl. lol at Lotz saying he doesn't expect/think it will happen yet clearly as thought about it a lot. Glad to know what he does in his spare seconds while he is waiting for the 30 sec to pass in between posts.DeyDurkie5;984796 wrote:notre dame isnt going to win, so who cares about this discussion -

killer_ewokBottom line....if ND wins....there is a chance they could make it into a BCS Bowl if things shake out a certain way. Whether they deserve it or not is a matter of opinion. A 3-loss ND team with wins over highly ranked Michigan State (B1G Legends Champion) and Stanford teams (if it happens) and close losses to fairly highly ranked Michigan and USC teams would be worthy of consideration and a BCS bid IMO. Obviously the loss to USF has turned out to be a pretty bad one (5-5, 1-4 in Big East play).
