Cat Food Flambe'^^ This. At 6-6, Ohio State will get a mid-to-lower tier bowl game simply because of the size of our fan base and the $$ they'll bring to the hosting city.
As far as declining a bowl bid - no way. If there is one thing this Ohio State team needs, it's more practice. Going to a bowl game gives you 3-6 weeks of extra practice, much of which is spent on the basics. tOSU would accept a bowl bid even if they lost money (very unlikely) for this factor alone. -

The only B1G team I see losing in these matchups is Michigan State in a close one.Cleveland Buck;973208 wrote:Rose Bowl

That'd be a coin flip that I'm hoping falls on the side of the B1G.vball10set;973733 wrote:I like Toledo over Illinois (but I'm a little biased) -

Normally, I'd agree with you. However, since the practices would come with this coaching staff I'm afraid that might do more harm than good in the long run.Cat Food Flambe';973569 wrote:^^ This. I'd prefer OSU did not end up in a bowl game BUT that would mean either (1) they lose out and there's not enough slots, which is very unlikely, OR the NCAA comes down with a bowl ban. I certainly don't want that, if for no other reason than I don't believe it's warranted given the circumstances. -

I think Pinkel was a GREAT coach at Toledo and had some success at Mizzou, but I think his best days are over. I don't want him at OSU personally.vball10set;973587 wrote:a matchup against a potential head coach maybe?
Why would you prefer OSU not go to a bowl game? Even if this staff was the ones coaching, they could still use the reps. It is always good for your team to get some exposure in a bowl game.Writerbuckeye;973893 wrote:Normally, I'd agree with you. You realize that every single coach on this staff minus Vrabel was a position coach for Tressel right? Whilethe lack of Tressel's oversight may not allow for as much personal position growth as there should be, there is absolutely no reason that a few weeks of practice for this young team would cause any harm.Writerbuckeye;973893 wrote:Normally, I'd agree with you. Personally I'd love to see an Ohio vs. Ohio State match-up in a bowl game even if it's an irrelevant Astro-Tiddly Winks Bowl. It may not get much attention out of state but Ohio would have fun with it.darbypitcher22;971700 wrote:I don't think OSU fans would relish that matchup, but yeah, thats probably what it would be -
