Both should be top 3-4 round draft picks and if you're trying to stop both at a change of pace it's going to be tough. I watched the game with a recent OSU lineman who said if Tressel was coaching ND they'd win the National Championship this year.... Yes I compared them to Oregon...
Yeah Jonas Gray would absolutely destroy in a Jim Tressel offense.
People think he's come out of nowhere this season, which I guess is true, but he was like the Rivals #4 RB in the country coming out of HS. It's not like he wasn't supremely talented.
I'm not taking away from Oregon, their unique running game is nasty. Quite frankly it's a different animal and I don't care for the comparison.
But look at the lineup that Notre Dame's rushing attack consisted of prior to the Cave injury, and their recruiting ranks from Scout, Rivals, and ESPN (in that order).
RB- Jonas Gray (#21 RB, #4 RB, #11 RB)
RB- Cierre Wood (#6 RB, #8 RB, #11 RB)
LT- Nick Martin (#24 T, #22 T, #10 T)
LG- Chris Watt (#2 G, #1 G, #4 G)
C- Braxton Cave (#2 C, #4 C, #1 C)
RG- Trevor Robinson (#6 G, #1 G, #8 G)
RT- Taylor Dever (#21 T, #39 T, #141 T)
Very, very talented and it has shown.
