National Championship is a national championship lol

I just hate when people say that the best team is always the national champions.

It's a bit biased (sort of..), but the best year for who truly was the best team was when Kansas won in '08 because the 4 Final 4 teams were 1 seeds.

Or just when a dominant regular season team also wins the title...like UNC in '09
I agree no one can convince me OSU wasn't the best team last year...but I digress.

The best team is going to win a 64+ team tournament like 20% of the time.

Same scenario with what happened in the SuperBowl on Sunday. The Giants went 9-7? regular season. Was that the best team, no. The hottest, probably.

With every word I type I start to rationalize the BCS.....I have to stop myself.

Agree about a team getting hot at the right time. BUT, there was also the factor of UConn having a player put the team on his shoulders and litterally carry them to the title. What Walker did, reminded me of what Danny Manning did with Kansas in '88. I am sure many on here don't remember that. ;)

    Manny and the Miracles!

But speaking of Danny Manning...KU is going to lose him very quickly. In his short time at KU working w/ the big men, he's turned out Cole Aldrich, Morris twins, Thomas Robinson, and Jeff Withey.

First 3 were top 15 picks, Thomas Robinson will be a top 5 pick, and Jeff Withey has come from my personal least favorite player ever to a pretty solid big man for KU...it's UNREAL what Manning has done with all of those guys but most especially Withey.

p.s. now my least favorite player is Connor Teahan, but that may go beyond just basketball :D

Everyone complains about the Schott being a quiet arena. Rupp is quiet too. Hardly any crowd noise at all.

When osu played their tourney game there, I was excited to go see Rupp. Was a HUGE disappointment. It's in that convention center or whatever it is. Just not at all what I expected.

UK is really good. Especially since I don't think they run any offense. It's pure streetball or a screen at the top. That's it. And yet they still get just about anything they want.

Florida has gotten wide open 3's the whole game. Can't make them.

They run offense, but the only way to beat them is hedge on Teague and make him run the team. He's starting to dominate at it. He's made the good decision/pass about 90% of the time the last month. He had 11 assists tonight. When he isn't getting it, Lamb, Kidd-Gilchrist and Miller can both run the lead guard for a few possessions and do just as good.

One thing that is evident is you can't pressure UK and it's tough to score on them. Florida had open looks, but they got hardly anything inside. Davis and Kidd-Gilchrist are just that dominant and Jones is a very underrated defender. Just nearly impossible to score consistently in the half court against them unless you are unconscious from the perimeter.

KU will be reppin these bad boys lol

    In other games tonight...

Iowa State with a killer loss in Stillwater. Big loss for ISU who still has a tough schedule.
Creighton is now slumping as they lose at Evansville. Bad lead in to a showdown against Wichita this weekend.

Amazing schedule coming up the the next two night...not even thinking about this weekend yet!

    Kansas at Baylor
    Georgetown at Syracuse
    Duke at North Carolina
    Notre Dame at West Virginia
    St. Mary's at Gonzaga
    Mississippi at Mississippi State
    Wisconsin at Minnesota
    Illinois at Indiana

None of those games excite me besides Kansas Baylor and Minnesota Wisconsin.
  • GOONx19
You guys probably don't care about this, but we all got posters at Rupp yesterday that I thought were pretty cool.

Aaron Craft will win it next year if Davis decides to go pro and you can take that to the bank.
  • Azubuike24
The way they are talking, Nerlens Noel may be in the discussion next year...
  • vball10set
Hey Azu, how ya' coming on the results from last weeks games?
  • Automatik
Davis is probably a lock for freshman and defensive POY honors. He'll also be in the running for national POY, but I don't think he'll get that one.

    Has that ever been done?

Sullinger is your POY. He's a lock.
  • SportsAndLady
You guys haven't mentioned the actual POY yet
  • Automatik
Yeah we know who your POY is.

Too early to tell now anyway....lot of hoops to be played.

Never been done that I know of. He may just be the first to it.
